Commodity shortages

If you were working those hours time and time again I would look inward for the answer to the problem.

The problem was that Obama was bad for the economy and I didn’t check any of the boxes for special classes of employees. The owners had already made across the board pay cuts and eliminated the 401(k) match and the executives made it clear to all of their people that that is what we signed up for. But I understood that that is how capitalism works and being a lowly white male I was under attack by the liberal Dems making policy. No labor unions had my back. So I kept investing every penny that I could save and now I don’t have to work for any businesses run by virtue signaling clown management or anybody else for that matter.

Well maybe when they replace you with an Ai , you’ll benefit from the shares you have , Then you can learn how to operate one of those new AL truck monitoring systems Amazon starts up ..chief

I’ve mopped plenty of restaurant kitchen floors after 1am on Friday and Saturday nights (and on week nights when I should have been home studying for the next day’s test at school). I’ve unloaded many trucks with and with pallet jacks or forklifts (while the union drivers were off drinking coffee). I’ve manually unloaded and sorted semi-trucks packed floor to roof with cases of cleaning supplies (not on pallets) on the overnight shift and reloaded into the panel trucks for the next day’s deliveries (while working on my BS degree).

It’s pretty simple. If you do work that can be automated and your pay is driven up beyond what is reasonable for the required skill, you might could be replaced with technology. $15/hour burger flippers may not want to make that their life’s work. Guys sitting behind the steering wheels of tractor trailers criss crisding the country might want to think about those jobs going away in the next decade or two.

I think within a decade you will see atleast 20 percent minimum of long haul trucking beings autonomous. I think it may even be as high as 30.

Time will tell though.

This will hurt this country a lot though.

Not within a decade.

Not within a decade.

It’s already coded by the FEDS.

I wish I could get into more detail but everything as far as legalities is ready to go. I just don’t see how it goes past a decade.

But we shall see.

I love reading how your mind works and the categories you think people fall into . So far we have human truck drivers don’t pay attention , don’t drive safe or respectful, they just sit behind the wheel criss crossing the country while you have to somehow manage to get around them carrying your heavy BS degree around that exempted you from making over time , and that you had to manually unload and stock products while those ole union workers were off on a break , plus sweep and mop floors to earn . I still smell middle management , but my new guess is a financial numbers cruncher that gets to hold power point meetings for middle management about Six Sigma and Heat map processes . Lol

It’s only “interesting” if you haven’t read any of his retweets that he copies onto here quite frequently. He morphed into Luther long ago

Didn’t he just claim to be a moderate not too long ago or was that another liberal I’m thinking of ?

Now that is some fine writing..almost poetic

I haven’t always been a trucker that just sits behind the wheel looking out the windows at jersey walls . Working in management at Caterpillar made me despise those Six Sigma programs , never thought I’d let myself think about them again . 😂

Growing disparity of wealth is a real issue.

While cost-wise, it's great that 50 people can run a factory that once required 500, and I think there will still be jobs for many of unneeded factory workers elsewhere, they might be lower wage jobs. Meanwhile, the owners of the factory have a more efficient cash-generating machine.

I think the economic system is going to have to figure out how to be more re-distributional.

Brian, so the government is going to determine what is "re-distributional.

This is the logical next step in progression, if you listen to all the progressive liberals saying that our broken system isn’t working the way it should .

Your first sentence reeks of irony. Pretty much the rest are full of ******** and ignorance. I’ve simply been a hard worker with enough financial discipline that was blessed to have outstanding parents so that now I can get by pretty comfortably. You seem like an angry, misguided person that’s triggered.

I’ve really never seen doing those things. I do have a pretty good aptitude with ciphering. Might could be a couple SDs above the average. Pretty experience with computers and investing. Not near so blessed with the language skills though, so no. I’ve rarely done presentations of any sort.

Oh you missed the mark bubba , I’m probably one of the most laid back people you’ll ever know , now I have been misguided several times, but it’s usually when I ignore details in stories volunteered by people trying to explain what they aren’t . … Do tell us again about how hard a worker you are while being exempted from over time , sweeping and mopping , unloading and loading the trucks while those union guys were on break , regale us with all the bad driving truckers you’ve had the pleasure of seeing while on your many travels across our country . Tell us just one more time how much those terminated workers that were replaced by automation will benefit because they have a few shares in the company that let them go so they could increase the shareholders profits . You are correct . I am triggered , at myself , for wasting so much time .

Why would I need to repeat myself? You’d only need to scroll up to see any of my comments again. Of course you won’t find the ones that you just made up. The point that you seemed to have missed is that I’m hardly some lazy, entitled worker that you appear to be envious of.

BTW. An exempt employee is not entitled to overtime PAY. It doesn’t mean that they are exempt from working overtime HOURS.
