I think that Butch will motivate the team to catch Auburn slipping a-la UGA/SCar. If I had to bet on the outcome, I'd say Auburn wins, but I still think that Butch/UT could pull off the upset given the way we've played earlier in the year.

If we lose that game I have full faith in Butch and the team pulling it together to secure a bowl birth with a victory over Vandy. I think that Butch will be coaching his butt off and the team will play at a higher level as well.

I've seen zero signs of motivation the last two weeks. The defense has come out as flat as I've seen all year. The only thing going for the Vols shot at a bowl is the week off following Auburn. Maybe they can regroup, get healthy, and finish strong.

It's hard for your motivation and effort to show when you're playing an Alabama team that is on different level than any other team in the nation. March any UT team out there from any other year and they would have had a hard time toppling Bama.

As far as the Mizzou game goes, the circumstances didn't favor us at all. We had a trush frosh making his first start on the road at a top-10 site. Mizzou needed to make a big statement after their heartbreaking loss in OT.

We almost upset UGA at home, we shocked SCar at home. The guys play better in Neyland and I think it will help us a lot to have the home crowd for Auburn and (especially) Vandy.

6-6 with a bowl win. I said it before the season started and I'm sticking to it.

The irony is, we should be worried about UK on the road. We haven't won on the road in a looooooong time, and UK will be very motivated.

I expected to see improvement over the course of the season, instead I see regression. I think that they are ranked pretty much where they should be. And so are we.

I look forward to playing them all again once CBJ has a full season or two to weed out the kids that only know losing and have not yet learned how to win and to fill his roster with the talent that he has selected to run his scheme. Next year will be better and the year after that should be good. If not, then we need to rethink Jones. But for now, the future looks bright.

But CBJ should be questioned because of the blowouts. Not that it is directly his fault, but he has not been perfect this season. Again, that is not putting our coach down. He should be able to make a difference against a team like Mizzou, if he is a championship caliber coach.

We may have a very good coach in CBJ. We don't know yet. Let's not celebrate sharing the Big East title. He is in the SEC now. This is big boy football.

It's okay to question leadership.

I tend to agree with most of what the OP said. There's nothing wrong with holding this team and these coaches to a high standard. I know it's gonna take a couple years and I'm not suggesting anything drastic so you can keep your overreaction comments to yourself. For them to go to Missouri with whatever the hell kind of offensive strategy that was and a defense that got zero pressure, played twelve yards off the line and were constantly missing tackles is flat out unacceptable.
