Complete utter disgrace and you shouldnt accept it!

Could this be some phychic hangover from Dooley?

I honestly don't think so. But even if it is... I don't understand why Jones who remarkably benched Leguax last year when he was WINNING... hasn't benched any of UT's OL prima donnas this year.

Generally when someone who has caused you to become negative and underperform is replaced... there's an immediate weight lifted that results in over-performance rather than underperformance.

Think about a case where workers have had a jerk for a boss who made horrible decisions causing an culture of failure. A new boss with a winning attitude will almost always be received with great enthusiasm and result in immediate improvement.

Maybe it is coming. Maybe there's another agenda he's working. Maybe they flat out don't have talent (sure hope not for next year's sake). But I sure would like to hear that Stone is being moved to OG with Crowder starting. IMHO, Bullard is the weak link... and I absolutely LOVE what little I have seen of Crowder.

I know Ill get crucified for bi t ch ing and moaning and being negative but somebody has to step up once and a while and do it....ITS NEEDED!

Volnation is very lucky to have you keyboard warrior. What exactly are you stepping up and doing?

Volnation is fired up...now what.
Do we send a message to Coach Jones and the team...
This is being handled by people who fully understand the situation and has the right to address these young men. You sir do not.

Please stop making threads that you would not repeat out loud to the team in person and Butch Jones personally.

Stop being a keyboard tough guy.

I bought Auburn tickets even after watching the team get beat by top 10 teams on the road 2 weeks in a row. I drove 14 hours round trip and spent another $500 on top of 2 $70 tickets to watch my team return to glory.

There is a very real difference between an excuse and a reason.

Example, Some reasons I didn't marry Michele Phiffer:

I never met her. I'm an ugly sod. I ain't rich. And if I hada met her, I ain't her speed!

Uh, did I mention speed? I did and team speed and team talent level are reasons, not excuses. Mizzou has a lot of consistency in coaching an system the VOLS do not have, and that makes a huge difference. To deny that is to deny reality. Tto pi$$ and moan about the loss like many folks are doing and saying, But We're Tennessee is itself in fact living in la-la land. No we don't like it, but we are not making excuses, we're looking reality in the face.

You should too.

The reality is WE COULDNT PUT UP ONE TOUCHDOWN against a solid team on the road..you're the one that needs to realize that! Just sit there and let that sink in real good...not ONE touchdown...

Will do! For now, my money and time can be put to better use than to watch the second half of this weekends game with the Auburn fans.

I was glad to see Jonathan Johnson back hope he gets more playing time he has great hands. We need to get the ball to North more even if it is short passes and let him work.

we still have Auburn and Vandy at home, and UK. There are 2 wins in there.

some of our fans act like they're on a Civil War surgery table after every loss. GET OVER IT CHIEF.

There is absolutely no question Saturday night was a disgrace. It completely was.

I have posted elsewhere that if both teams had played how they have up to this point in the season, the "expected" outcome was Mizzou by about 2 TDs.

Since we turned the ball over 3 times more than them, and every single TO occured in or near the red zone, it's not surprising that they padded that by another two TDs.

Generally ... and this is a very rough rule of thumb, every three turnovers makes roughly a 10 point difference. So to me, the final result is about what it should be with Mizzou getting the turnovers.

So....this game was a disgrace. I agree!

What I COMPLETELY disagree with is that this means we are doomed for the rest of the season, or even against Auburn.

This was ONE BAD GAME. In terms of turnover margin, it's our worst performance of the season. ALL the turnovers were by Dobbs, a true frosh making his first start on the road against the no. 9 team in the country.

I could say that I expect Dobbs to get better about protecting the ball as the rest of the season plays out...and I definitley do, especially since our only remaining road game is Kentucky.

But a BETTER THING to say is "let's watch and see if Dobbs keeps turning the ball over".

If he doesn't, we definitely beat Vandy and Kentucky and likely give Auburn a better game than they expect.

Neither Auburn nor Vandy are easy wins, even at home. I'm really thinking they lose both. Auburn will score way too much for us to keep up, Vandy will be very close and could go either way.

I won't be thrilled with 6-6 and a crap bowl. But it's better than the alternative, and we'll be lucky to get there, so I'll take it and hope for better things "next year."

Two promising drives wiped out by turnovers by a true frosh on the road in his first start against the no. 9 team in the country.

Does that help?

While I am at it, we might have made a TD on the drive that resulted in a FG without the stupid back to back penalties...which didn't happen earlier in the year and hopefully was a one game anomaly.

I am probably disappointed in the penalties as much as anything.

I find it so amusing that many on here think we are actually expected to win games when we are double-digit underdogs. They don't quite understand how sports handicapping works.

You all don't understand it's not about the loss. It's about the embarrassing way we lose!!!!!!

I don't think we'll beat Auburn. But I do think we will win out after. Including the bowl game.

I think that Butch will motivate the team to catch Auburn slipping a-la UGA/SCar. If I had to bet on the outcome, I'd say Auburn wins, but I still think that Butch/UT could pull off the upset given the way we've played earlier in the year.

If we lose that game I have full faith in Butch and the team pulling it together to secure a bowl birth with a victory over Vandy. I think that Butch will be coaching his butt off and the team will play at a higher level as well.

Vandy is a much, much easier win. Not a gimme, but we should be favored.

We still out talent Vandy by a wide margin, while Auburn out talents us. We play Vandy at home. The team has a beef from last year. And best of all....we will not be out coached this year!

Like I said...not a gimme, but I am not that worried about Vandy, frankly.

EXCELLENT point. :good!:

However it is my sincere hope that if the coaches see the "give up" by some of the Sr's that I and others think we saw... they give guys like Crowder, Saulsberry, et al more time. If the Mizzou game showed anything along the lines it is that less talented players giving their absolute all and playing with a nasty streak trump guys with NFL measureables who don't play smart or aggressive.

I could say that I expect Dobbs to get better about protecting the ball as the rest of the season plays out...and I definitley do, especially since our only remaining road game is Kentucky.
Dobbs will be fine IMO. The Sr OL's standing around while defenders make plays... I'm not so sure.

The irony is, we should be worried about UK on the road. We haven't won on the road in a looooooong time, and UK will be very motivated.
