Confident USU Fans (blue cool-aid)

I just went to the USU boards..... they have announced on there that Worley is the starting QB for us, and you should see what they write! They are a very confident group. One posted he was coming to the practice Saturday night (in Gatlinburg visiting family).... I wish I could come, but my point is he stated he would be taking notes and posting them on their site, I will be anxious to see his comparison of the practice to what Volnation members will see.

Saw that too. I think they're in for a surprise and disappointment.

Utah State fans, players, and coaches should feel confident. UT hasn't scared ANYONE in a long long time.

Beginning next season, though, I hope that will begin to change.

I think it's been brought up, but the humidity in August can be a killer. I'm originally from out west, in fact, I attended USU for a year. When we moved here in August several years ago, we thought we were going to die. My dad came out two years ago, spent an hour mowing my lawn, and was flat on his back the rest of the day.

Now, we weren't well conditioned college athletes, but I have no doubt that USU will struggle with the humidity in Neyland in August. True, they train at higher altitude, but I'd rather train here and go play there, then the reverse.

I'll be interested to see if the USU fan who is visiting family and scouting the team tonight says anything about the humidity. I bet he gets tired just walking to the stadium--imagine chasing our receivers up and down the field for sixty minutes.

Was looking at the Fox news clip on MSN just now.. they are discussing the Top-25. I always scroll down to the feedback at the bottom, typical S.E.C. bashing going on. We were brought up a couple times... One was for sure an Oregon fan explaining how they gave Tennessee its worst beating ever (thanks Dooley), and then a Utah State fan decided to chime in to explain how they are coming to K-town to remind the S.E.C and Tennessee the end is near for the S.E.C.

Hurry up Season!!

Go Vols

So when UT shut out APSU and beat WKU were you thanking Dooley as well? Was Dooley responsible for the S. Carolina win, too?

Butch Jones was the coach last season. There were a ton of posters on here all off-season in 2013 talking about how "it was a new attitude" at UT and that "this team is going to______________________?"

Always a "Party Pooper" amongst us..... lighten up dear.. it is going to be okay. I should remind you as much as we do not speak of it here.. the word Luck can come into play at anytime.. including on the football field. Talented or not.. when "LUCK" goes your way.. things are about to happen. Thank you for your insight. If you can take in All I said, I stated that I attempt to blame Dooley for our debacle...... I have never been able to pinpoint why we have fallen as we have so I reach out for reason.. this one suits me just fine.

Note to self: APSU and WKU may not have been as good as we were told.

Not a party pooper but the blaming Dooley for everything gets old. The problem is you back yourself into a corner with this argument. Had UT gone 0-12 it may make sense.

But if you're going to blame Dools for the losses you have to give him credit for the wins.

Look, I think he's a douchebag but fair is fair.

This is not worth debating..... I posted what I wanted to and I shall live with it. whether you care to accept it or not.. I could care less. I made a post that was not completely accurate.. if we could all be like you then ..... oh well.. what a wonderful world. I have not blamed Dooley for everything we have had to face.. I use his era as a CRUTCH and speak of him often.. I am in the heart of BAMA LAND...... when you hear it often you grab for straws... continue to enlighten us with literary corrections all you like.. I shall digress. (I have been here much longer than you.. after enduring the negative reaction from you.. it only reminds me why i've posted so little here)

You may have been on here (Volnation) longer but I doubt you've been a Vol fan longer than I have. Sorry you're in the heart of Bama land. That has to suck. I'm in FL and the UF fans don't even make fun of us any more until game week.

Fair works in a world that does not exist.

Actually there are situations where his lack of recruiting has hurt us to the point of not being able to compete with depth (Oregon, Bama, etc).

I wouldn't give him credit for the South Carolina game because our team won in spite of his faults in recruiting. He's not the head coach anymore so he can't get credit for the wins as he didn't scheme at all, but things he did that are still affecting us can be blamed on him.

I agree with some of what you're saying, but there were an awful lot of "BOOMS" on here during the Dooley days when commitments announced. Was that blind loyalty?

I'm not giving Dooley credit for the S. Carolina game, so you know. I was simply making the point that you can't blame him for the losses if you're not going to give him credit for the wins.

That's similar to the parental joke of when your child does good you say, "That's my son/daughter." When they mess up, you look at your spouse and say, "look what your son/daughter did."

That's all.

They dont seem as optimistic after their open practice as they did just the other day. I saw someone say they thought they could win all 13 games... but now think only 9. Lots of them think their passing game and OLine looked bad.

Here's a quick tip: Bet against the spread, whatever it is.

If I'm not mistaken, Utah State has beaten the spread in 25 of their last 26 games or something to that effect. It's like clockwork. I'll make no prediction on the score, but if that spread climbs above 10 points I'll take it in a heartbeat.

You are in your 2nd year of a different coach. Wells may keep it going but more often than not when a mid-major loses a coach like Petersen... there's a decline. This year, most of the players who made your peak happen are gone. That included some guys who at least got a look by the NFL. Maybe your program continues to strike gold with underrated players... but again that would be atypical.

If you are going to bet this game, you better look at talent and match ups. Both teams had critical losses from last year's team. Who replaces them with better players? Where are the critical mismatches?

Show your work.

25 out of 26 would make them the darlings of degenerates everywhere...and they don't exactly seem to be.

Guys that made our peak happen? What about Chuckie Keeton, Zach Vigil, Kyler Fackrell to name a few?

I would guess that our program will continue to strike gold with underrated players. We call it player development. Whereas UT gets guys that are physically ready from Day 1, we have to prepare ours a bit and we do a fine job of it.

I could say the same thing to you, only the opposite. Maybe you program continues to fail with 5-star talent, but that would be atypical.
