I mean it’s against UTC. Who really gives a crap? If the players like them and want to wear them, let them. Even better if it’s a throw away game like this where a lot of guys will play.

Players love them, they probably don't care what you think.
Yeah, prolly not.

I managed a youth baseball team with a corporate sponsor years ago. Team. No names on nameplate, just TEAM. Took a league team to a Select Dallas Tournament and finished runner up based on runs scored, 10-9, after storms rained out the Sunday Finals. It was a good weekend.

Those Grey unis will be hot. We should wear white shirts.
My thoughts exactly! Why for a Stupid Noon game (for TV only) in August would you not wear White? And as I've said , why cant the Football Vols use the same awesome gray colors the Basevols wore at Omaha? Those were killer. And I agree, these "Gray" Unis are essentially black. Obviously somebody in charge just doesn't get it. Wear white damn... Use some common sense. Think about those players in pads and heat absorbing Black.
Yep. like operating a jackhammer with a Dark suit on at high noon in August. Asinine.
FYI for everyone:

While everyone is correct about colors and radiant heat from the sun, in a recent interview Coach Tony Vitello said that the baseVols' black jerseys were of a different material, and so were actually the cooler (to play in) jersey option.

Ironically, the (gorgeous IMHO) cream & orange baseball tops were the thickest, least breathable, and hottest. he implied that was the reason for not playing the final CWS game in our traditional colors this past June.

Would love to know whether our football unis for this season are all of the same material, and differ only in color. There would be some logic to having some unis that are better for cold weather or rain, and others of a material better suited for hot weather.

Imagine a clothing manufacturer considering the environment in which the jersey would be worn.

Possibly two different issues of the same design? This isn’t aerospace..

I still think the UT should do something dramatically different. Come out with jerseys that have horizontal orange and white stripes, pants the same, with an attitude to opponents that says, w3e're going to criminalize you. Crazy, but boy, oh, boy, what a media frenzy that would spark. And potential future recruits marveling at our daring.

Have the team escorted through the "T" with staff dressed in orange uniforms designed like police uniforms, with white caps, just for the heck of it. Come on, UT, have some imagination!!!!!

Was not the case with George Cafego. He wore an orange helmet.
so go back to the good old days of wearing leather helmets, think not. Pretty sure George didn't wear a black or gray helmet so we can toss those.

The players usually vote on alternate unis.

Bama will be orange and white and they’ll wear Stormtroopers for away games, with possibility of orange pants.

There may be another “all black” combo for a big home game against Florida or KY.

And/or- all Orange for a home game.
Well let's hope they don't wear all black for UF since the plan is to checker Neyland

I highly dislike the greys. Players choice I’m sure. If they like it, cool. I just prefer orange and orange/white.

However, if we didn’t get smoked by the play call thieves, this would have been in the rotation. Solid look.

Not my favorite but love the look

I like the greys but I don’t know why we are using them against a cupcake? If they fire up the team why not safe them for a better opponent
Florida and bama will always be orange and white under this AD, Miss st is homecoming so that’s all orange, Kentucky is gonna be the blackout game, so don’t really see another spot to wear them.
