Congrats to Pearl for equaling Wade Houston's players drafted total

True. Help me remember who won the SEC regular season in 09-10 and elite eight, conference tournament in 10-11 and just went to the Final Four?

Is cotton the new hat? Does that make you a cotton jock sniffer?

Cal is 10 times the recruiter that he is a coach. How does a coach that has had the talent he has had not have 1 title?

I am amazed many cannot give this man the credit he is due. He is a very good coach, a top recruiter, and deals with the pressure of bringing in new teams year in and out like swatting flies. I predict he will be at Kentucky a very long time and we will have to deal with him. If we can go 50/50 with him on average, we will have done much better than most any other team he plays against on a regular basis.

I am very optimistic about Coach Zo' and think he may be one of those who can beat the odds.

I'm not exactly a Cal or a UK defender, but that is a very odd comment about a guy who has an SEC championship and 2 SECT titles, a Final Four, and an Elite Eight appearance in two years in his current job.

I was referring to Calipari's statement in last years draft when he stated it was the biggest accomplishment in UK basketball history to get x players drafted in the first round.

Seems rather dumb to defend him when I was just passing on information that came straight from the man himself.

Seems rather dumb to suggest that a man who has experienced so much on the court success doesn't care about winning.

I am glad you took the bait :)

So you are arguing that spoken words that the man breathed were not in fact what he believed? I assume you believe that he misspoke and is not entirely prided on putting players in the league.

I never said he does not care about winning, you are obviously lying to cover for your failed assumptions. All coaches want to win, he however places winning at a different priority level. I am literally dumbfounded you are arguing an actual fact.

Did the man not say on national television that the 2010 draft was biggest moment in Uk basketball history or not? Answer this for everyone to see please.

Exactly, because placing all those players in the first round can't possibly help future recruiting, leading to better teams that win more games

Sounds like it would be good for recruiting. Your point is? Is everyone going to make what I say into something it is not just to make themselves look smart?

As opposed to allowing you to make yourself look dumb?

So you're taking coachspeak at face value and arguing that laughing at you makes no sense?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

I fail to see how a statement that causes strife amongst the fan base and required him to make a public apology recanting his statement can be considered coachspeak or at all good for the program and recruiting. That is unless you are suggesting he is a total moron.

I suggest that he plays to the crowd at all times. It makes perfect sense for him to make comments that glorify recruiting.

Feel free to elaborate, I doubt that you can.

I could simply direct you back to your own asinine points, but something tells me we would end up right back here. Perhaps if you set a trap for me I will fall right into it.

I fail to see how that draft wasn't a big moment in UK history anyway.

Sounds like Bruce Pearl

I don't argue that recruiting and winning don't often directly correlate, nor am I saying Calipari is not a fantastic coach. I just feel that part of what's made him so successful (recruiting) is also what has held him back from winning a title ( not forming an experience laden team).
