Congrats to Pearl for equaling Wade Houston's players drafted total

And everytime they land another ridiculous class it just makes the comment look better.

Ok you take the drafts filled with wildcats, I will take all the wins and championships and call it a deal

why are you acting as if the two things are somehow unrelated? They aren't.

Actually three posts above this one I addressed the entire issue you are arguing in your post. You must have missed it. When those kids getting drafted are juniors and senior is when he will start winning championships. Maybe one day he will prove me wrong, but he hasn't yet.

Is it your motive to try and talk in circles so that I will get fed up and quit and you will have felt that you won?

No, I think you are wrong. Deal with it. Also, he has won championships, and he has been to Final Fours. Why is an ncaa championship the measure here?

It is the unrealistic expectations UK fans set year in and year out. The original argument was does Calipari prioritize recruiting over winning and I think he does, otherwise he would have won a national title, the guy got harrellson drafted for goodness sake. I can only imagine what he could do with a team he could actually develop.

Hard to argue with that.

I just don't get the point of your argument. Of course he puts a very high priority on recruiting. If you don't recruit well, you aren't going to win. It's pointless to argue what gets a higher priority because they go hand in hand.

You don't get the point of his argument because it is flawed. Cal doesn't have a NC, and the only reason must be because he doesn't care enough about winning. The point is silly, so logical people have trouble with it.

I am glad you took the bait :)

So you are arguing that spoken words that the man breathed were not in fact what he believed? I assume you believe that he misspoke and is not entirely prided on putting players in the league.

I never said he does not care about winning, you are obviously lying to cover for your failed assumptions. All coaches want to win, he however places winning at a different priority level. I am literally dumbfounded you are arguing an actual fact.

Did the man not say on national television that the 2010 draft was biggest moment in Uk basketball history or not? Answer this for everyone to see please.

He does this because he once read where Cal said one thing which he thinks strengthens his flawed reasoning. Of course he must ignore other things Cal has said, like:

"We want to win every game from here on out. We want the trophy. That’s been our main focus from the beginning.”

and:

"I said 'I'm coming in here to build a program to get us into the top 10 and give us a chance to win a national championship,' and I haven't wavered from that."

so does dexter morgan of miami.

Great show, but if you're suggesting it's that irrelevant, it was the original topic of the thread.

If you're going to say Pearl only has one drafted player (as opposed to Cal) because he cares more about winning, then you might want to explain why Calipari wins more too...

i think the words in the op appear different on your screen because when i read it there's no mention about wins and losses or how far a coach has taken his teams in the ncaa tourney. furthermore, the number of final fours bruce has lead teams to is as relevant to my post as a showtime character.

Did you miss that last part? Pretty sure drafted players are completely relevant. People just started making really weak excuses for the fact contained in the OP.

no, didn't miss that part, just have no idea why you'd think i'm even claiming that because i'm pointing out that cal technically has one final four.

If you're just throwing that tidbit out there in a thread about Pearl's drafted players, your post is even less relevant than mine...

yeah, it wasn't previously mentioned in the thread that cal has coached in multiple final fours. i just threw that out there for no reason.

You're talking in circles. The reason it was brought up was because people were comparing Pearl and Cal and suggesting Cal cared less about winning. If you're throwing out Dexter Morgan because you can't follow what's happening, that's not my problem.
