Was Terry McAuliffe under investigation by the FBI at the time of the campaign contribution?

You are talking about two different things, but it is not surprising. McCabe leaking bad stuff about HRC and lying to investigators is the basis for the charge. The charge comes from a Trump soldier in the DOJ, happy to support Trump's deep state conspiracy nonsense.

The other points you make are vague claims of bias against Trump. At least one of which has nothing to do with McCabe, but again standard right wing false equivalency to support the conspiracy theory. So put it all together and it sounds like some sort of toxic stew.

Which as pointed out by others is ironic because the leaks were anti-Clinton to begin with.

And there we have it. You go from McCabe acted wrongfully to hurt Clinton to speculation that McCabe must therefore also have been involved in FISA abuse against Trump. That's pretty much the card you guys have been playing for awhile. Good luck with it but anyone smarter than a box of rocks sees right through the ploy.

To summarize, months ago the IG recommended prosecution based on McCabe’s actions related to the leaking and associated perjury in questioning on that leaking. McCabe’s defense team has been busy doing appeals of “please please please don’t prosecute him!” to the DOJ which are now exhausted. The grand jury has been reconvened on the original matter and the DOJ has referenced all further inquiries on the matter to the USA’s office. No grand jury indictment has been levied yet. However the matter is no longer frozen due to McCabe’s appeals to the DOJ. And the USA agreed with the IG’s recommendation to indict this far.

As a side note I’m gonna guess this throws a wrench in McCabe’s lawsuit against the DOJ 😂
