This is the point that I was trying to make in my original post. It seems your mind is made up. Thats okay if it is, it is your's to do with what you will. But as for me, I am willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and hope that he can build on the success of the program Bruce re-built here.

That's not the case and I didn't intend to come off like that. I am not saying he will fail, but there's nothing that I'm seeing in his background that convinces me otherwise. There's also nothing in his background that convinces me he will fail. I was just pointing out similarities in their background up to UT and was interested in hearing the differences.

Some people will immediately say he's the best coach ever because we hired him. I will support him like a brother, but I'm not convinced by his background.

Just an observation: It's too soon to say what kind of coach he will turn out to be. My only concern with it is that it appears that Mike Hamilton et al seem like the kid who's afraid to ask out the captain of the cheerleading team and so they take the safe route and ask the fat plain girl to the prom. Just so they won't be alone on prom night. I hope I'm wrong.

My "stereotypes" as you call them are simply based upon observations made before I was approved to post replies. I never got a reason for some members' visceral hatred of Pearl and then the Auriema avatar shocked and horrified me.:twocents:

Fat girls need lovin' too. The problem is Mike Hamilton isn't the football captain or prom king. Right now the captain of the cheerleading squad isn't interested in going to prom with the geeky mathelete spelling bee champ.

Coach ZO will not be like anyone who has gone before him. I think the question you are posing is, will he be successful? No one can answer that question with any degree of certainty. Nor does he have a track record extensive enough to give us any degree of confidence.

I have nothing against Cuonzo, but have this feeling. He seems like an incredibly likable guy who had a short run of success at a smaller school.
