Cooper Leaving

There's no need to throw shots at student athletes especially because they have moved on. Hope Te'a sees this board and make all the downers eat their words.
I hope she does too. She needs to grow up! Maybe some harsh reality will do her good. It is a big world and she isnt the sun. She can't shoot, excels at turnovers. And has emotional and possibly acedemic problems. Reality check Ms Cooper...you are getting kicked by life for your actions. Now to the quoted poster, she didnt just decide to move on...she wasn't given an option, she was shown the door and asked if she needed a foot to the rearend! What kind of fan hopes someone does (more)damage to our University? Seriously, Cooper is obviously a problem, she damaged the team, has been the subject of slamming us on social media. No sorry, i have no respect for her or care where she goes.spoiled waste of talent and immature.

I am certainly glad you do not speak for all of us LV fans! Ms. Cooper be blessed and I pray you do great things! Just not against us 😂😬. In all seriousness I hope you find success at your next stop!

I mean... this is nothing against Tennessee.. but if we're being honest Cooper probably should've ended up at South Carolina to begin with. She did choose Tennessee over SC.. and as much as Cooper may have liked Tennessee without Diamond, I think the only reason she ended up at Tennessee is because Diamond left UNC and decided to go to Tennessee.

South Carolina was always one of her top schools.. so when it came time for her to transfer, she already had a relationship with our staff. The lack of restrictions made it an even more attractive option.

FWIW, I think ya'll are well on your way to locking up Nicoletti (who is visiting Tennessee this weekend).. so losing Cooper may end up being a silver lining for the Lady Vols in the end.

FYI, Cooper picked Tennessee before Diamond actually announced she was coming here. Diamond herself had intrest in USC after her transfer. the two could have easily played there together given that was her reasoning to come to Tennessee.

True. But her committing to either SC or Tennessee did seem kinda obvious once Diamond left UNC.. and a lot of people thought it was going to be South Carolina for the both of them because prior to Diamond leaving UNC it was either UNC (as in, her recommitting) or SC for Cooper.... then DeShields left and suddenly Cooper is no longer interested in UNC? There was obviously some communication there.. maybe not a lot but some.

Emotional problems? Where is all this coming from?? She has some growing up to do...yes...but we all do at that age. She got into a fight and most of us have had those too, just not in the public eye. I've NEVER seen her slam UT on social media.

We have to be careful not to bash these kids, especially when they're down. I'm sure Te'a is hurt and regrets this whole situation. As do her teammates! None of us knows what led up to this incident or what the chemistry is like on the team, so to say she alone "damaged the team" is a bit of a reach. Te'a is an elite player without question (you may not like her form, but she can shoot)...and her loss is major for this team. Let's not run the young lady in the ground and diminish her talent because she made a mistake. I think she's a nice person but life has a way of teaching you and this is one of her moments. I wish her well and hope we can still manage to pull off the incredible season we thought we would have!

Diamond on Twitter

1 bad fruit can ruin the whole tree. 1 cancer cell can kill the organism. 1 bad leaf can kill the flower. All it ever takes is .....ONE.

I wouldn't read too much into this... she was just at Te'a's house the other day. She might be talking about someone else on the team. Perhaps the person Te'a had the altercation with. Who knows!

She would have been a junior in school with three more years to play. Now she will be a senior in school with three more years to play ! Does anyone think she is going to play three more years anywhere??? Maybe in Europe?

The NCAA gives a student-athlete five years in which to play four, so Cooper would only have two years of eligibility remaining after she sits out another year.

Thanks for the information.

Now she will have to sit out a year for actions at UT and won't be able to play that year either .... pretty good punishment for her plus not getting to play with DD since she came back for her last year of eligibility! Life's lesson sometimes seems very harsh!

LOL. Te'a was a lean to UT for at least a year before she picked here and LONG before Diamond ever left UNC. And if she was that set on following Diamond around like a lost puppy (like people seem to want to think, for whatever reason), she never would've been decommitted from UNC while Diamond was committed and was enrolled.

And she also committed to UT before Diamond did, even though everyone with a brain knew Diamond was UT bound as soon as she announced she was leaving UNC.

I have read all these insinuations of Tea's supposed altercation. Do we have concrete proof that this actually happened. Are some of us doing all we can to defame this young lady purely on hearsay? ?Emotional problems? She may not be the only person mentioned on this board with emotional problems.

There are a number of sources that have the information/evidence of one particular incident because it ended up on social media. Eventually, I think it may end up becoming public because of the number of people it reached and clearly a number of board members know what happened... and that is unfortunate for the player involved.

However, Holly and staff are giving Te'a their full support to go wherever she wants to go for a new start. There is no bad blood between the staff, current roster (even those involved in the incident) and Cooper so fans should just let it go, especially those that feel the need to take this situation personally.

Getting into fights is an emotional problem, adults can control their tempers. I worked in bars and around liquor before retiring, adults without emotional issues dont get into physical assaulting each other. I never said she had made any negitive comments. She and her actions...fighting, not showing up to games, have brought about slamming of our program, which is just as bad and what I was saying. Maybe it is normal in your world for adults to attack each other physically, but it isn't in any I have been involved in, including my days playing football at UT. She was also a problem before that fight...she doesn't deserve anyone making more excuses for her, she needs this harsh reality check and kick in the pants. I hope she gets her life together, but usefulness on a team, is just something I don't see her over coming the odds. She wasn't stellar as a freshman in any way, to think she can improve massively after 2 years away, in a new team, with young proven guards, is really expecting way to much. We also don't know how hard she worked to recover.

From the public's perspective, Holly said Te'a asked for a transfer. Now, some fans (such as yourself) profess to know what "really" happened even though there is no available evidence. Now, you just asked people who frequent this site to believe the alternate reality you propose.

To avoid the debate, why not leave it as Holly stated until the facts come out in public. The way it stands now it seems like some kind of cover up.

Holly advocated for Te'a to stay and so did the other player involved in the altercation. But she was released from the school by the administration. There is no bad blood. But UT did what they could to put out the flames for the sake of everyone involved -- that's why the video isn't running around rampant on social media now.

Simply put, she made a bad decision and is now facing the consequences by all means it looks like nobody is pouting about it and everyone is moving on.

I'm not sure what all is going on with Te'a. I hope this girl gets what she wants and can continue her basketball career. At this point she might even skip collage and basketball all together. She could play at a lower level this year and then move back to the top school of her choice. I only hope the best for this young lady.

Where are you getting this information that can't be verified. Obviously everyone is not moving on. Penn State also said move on, nothing to see here, and look what happened there.

My point is, secrecy by the Tennessee administration only leads to people imagining the worst. The rumors posted here only give rivals the ammo to imagine their own scenarios. If they came right out and said what happened, this situation would have been history long ago.

From someone who knows what's going on.

Obviously everyone is not moving on.

Everyone except for the fans. Fans will whine about it until the cows come home.

Yes, obviously this is sooooo much like the Penn State saga.

What stupid comparison.
