Cooper Leaving

Wouldn't she have to sit out this season reguardless of the school ?

Yes, she would have to sit out in order to transfer unless to a lower division.

Thinking she could also attend a school we'd blocked if she paid her own tuition for the 1st year.

But there may be SEC rules that prevent SC from taking her, so we must not have restricted her transfer.

?

I am not aware of any rule that precludes an SEC school from taking a transfer within the conference, but, without a full release from Tennessee, Cooper would have to sit out two years, were she to transfer to any other SEC school. (At least, according to he last copy of the SEC rules I saw)

Well, the additional year is the "penalty" or limitation by the SEC that I was wondering about. Thanks, Jim.

I personally think if you have a problem student athelete, who's buttons you know well, who's dedication you know well, who takes rehab and school and teamwork in a way you know well...the last thing you do is block her from attending your biggest competition. Please take her SC we have the scout on her locked down, and i do think she is damaged goods and a threat to team unity. By all means please add her to you team!

Lady Vols help her pack her bags! Can't wait to see how her and Cuarvas get along...two brawlers...nice!

There's no need to throw shots at student athletes especially because they have moved on. Hope Te'a sees this board and make all the downers eat their words.

It's two fold... it seems as though she was asked to leave but Holly should of blocked her if she didn't want her in the conference. I agree though no shots need to be thrown because she is a nice young lady and a pretty good balled who I wish continued success.

Yeah! It will be just like how Kaela Davis poisoned their team chemistry.

Oh wait...

In all seriousness, unless Cooper got a lot better since her freshman year, she'll probably be a role player if she goes to SC.

I think she would have been a role player for us if she was not told to leave. No heart in the LVs situation.

You seem to want to blame the rest of the team for DD's attitude problems. That's the way prima donnas and their supporters think. You don't sulk on a basketball court--period--as it doesn't help you or your team. Pouting is selfish behavior--it's all about me.

You might want to check DD's shooting percentages before you throw shade on her teammates. DeShields has had a TON of terrible shooting performances over the last two years--4-12, 5-15, etc. Lots of them. She can't shoot the three. As for her passing, you just make the pass that needs to be made. You don't need to make a showboat, bullet pass. The best players play at a high level consistently, raise the level of play of their teammates/team, and show good leadership on the court. DeShields doesn't really do any of those things. She was a near-embarrassment her first year of playing her--poor play, AND a bad attitude. Who comes out in their first year with a program and starts sulking around from the start of the season? Inexcusable. Last year she was better--she played better and there was far less sulking, but she was still very inconsistent and she still doesn't act like a leader. Here's hoping she takes another step forward this year.
Like I said take diamond off that team and they dont make the tournament. Yes she made mistakes but her team drop a lot of her passes. She forced a lot of those shots when her team was struggling as a whole. Put her on a better team then she's player of the year easily. She made it easy for them but they made the game harder for her. She was the main focus game in and game out. Only jaime played at her level and Mercedes at times. But having the height she has teams still didnt double and triple team her like the would a more dominant post. No shade was thrown the truth is the truth. And its that simple

Every championship team, I played or coached on players fought. Championship teams and players hold each other accountable, a competitive spirit, and fire its bound to happen, hopefully, the players can work it out, themselves. I was a fighter, I didn't tolerate laziness, I'm giving 100% and u giving 70 or 80 oh no we boxing. I am trying to win championship bih!

Now, if Holly, let Cooper go for fighting, welp shame on her. She wants valley girls, that look good for the fanbase, takes awesome photos. ijs Where the ballers at?

I remember Diana telling me about all the fights she had at Uconn, cos she would not tolerate lazy play or mental midgets and she took scrubs to championship. Need I say mo.

Or hearing from Holdsclaw all the shouting matches they all used to have.

Cooper if u were dismiss for fighting, this is not the kind of team you want to be on, lady vols for the past couple of years lacked accountability and toughness from the head coach on down to the players, if you're not willing to fight for what you believe in, you are as good as dead.

Lady Vols are not tough, Holly your girls are not tough mentally or physical, let them work it out, of course, protect a player safety, but aye fights happen.

Cooper, I bet u whoop who ever it was ass. huh. Cooper losers don't fight, don't speak up, don't stand up for anything, please don't be one of those people.
Te'a goodluck young lady, and always fight for what you believe in and don't tolerate excuses or half ass play!

Coaches, tend like team that check themselves. But when you keep seeing your coaches keep giving certain players passes, whatcha gonna do?

Or Maybe Te'a don't want to play for a coach who want get in her face, and challenge her to be the best player possible with their processes, and actions everyday. Diamond, Nared, Cedes, its too late to leave now! Imagine if they left, Lady Vols program would be in shambles.

I agree with most of this, maybe suspension but not getting kicked off the team.. If they had struck out in 2017 recruiting then that probably would've been the scenario. But hey i wish her the best as well as the lady vols. Love or hate Holly you have to be mentally challenged to think she will lead any team to a championship. Especially as long as she stays at the level she's been at the past few years. New assistant coaches might help her though. None of them seem to have great instincts when it comes to in game situations

I don't think many top programs would be interested in taking a player who was thrown out of school for violent behavior. But who knows.

If true, question is can she control herself or is she out of control. If she can, Dawn will have her under control. Or she won't be at SC. Jmo.

She would have been a junior in school with three more years to play. Now she will be a senior in school with three more years to play ! Does anyone think she is going to play three more years anywhere??? Maybe in Europe?

I am sure Holly and South Carolina coach have talked about Tea's situation!!! So everyone knows what they are getting and or losing! She has gotten enough punishment just in sitting out for two years. Let her go and wish her well!

She already led three Tennessee teams to conference championships, so apparently you're the one who's mentally challenged.
