He is less than a year older than Bill Belichick... and the Colts are a playoff team in year 1 (provided that Luck is healthy). I tend to doubt he leaves too but I think this would have to be the most tempting offer that he has had since he has been at Alabama.

Unfortunately it wouldn't fall far in 2016. They have a lot of talent for another coach to use to win a lot of games. It would take a couple of years for them to get bad.

Kiffin had some problems no doubt, but coaching/recruiting weren't. Whipped Georgia. Damn near beat Saban. And Urban had zero fun beating him.

What bugs me is I think he's matured and grown by watching a solid leader (saban) up close and personal for a couple of years.

Kiffin to HC at Bama would be a worst-case scenario, imo. As much as we all would love to drop him down a mineshaft, he's smart, talented and capable. Saban pointed out that he was a HC twice before most are coordinators.

Finally, his narrative is getting rehabilitated...last few days the talking heads have been calling him smart/prepared/etc.

Here's to Butch continuing to grow--we're gonna need him to.

Thats what Harbaugh would want - Irsay wont allow a total control deal -The Eagles wont either after what Kelly did to them --- the Giants -- no possible way either

I think Nick will be a candidate for the Saints job also. I could also see him going back to Louisiana and coaching the Saints.

I know it's considered "smart" to be very cynical about coaches stating they intend to stay put, but there are some cases where it's clear the guy really means it.

  • Butch is at Tennessee for life, if we let him.
  • Saban is at Bama until he retires.

These two things will not change, no matter what jobs come open.

Could be true but this kind of definitive declaration reminds me of some Gator fans I knew in 2001... Spurrier will never leave for the NFL. He has already turned down the Bucs and Falcons.

Nick Saban would have to be a complete idiot to take the Indy job.

Saban isn't an idiot, so he's not going.

I am hearing that Saban wants the Eagles job in Philly. Press Conf scheduled for Jan 12.

Strictly a rumor at this point.
