Could Saban be leaving?

Bama destroyes Clemson in the Title game. Saban decides that it's time for a new challenge and levels Bama but demands that his protégé, Lane Kiffin be given the head coaching job at Bama for the next 5 years, and Vols fans everywhere get to watch Kiffin dismantle the dynasty that Saban has built the last 8 years!

Chip Kelly will have his choice of NFL coaching jobs this offseason.

Perception for the masses was he was some type of genius, I have no idea why people had this perception but there is nothing genius about what he does. Adaption to his stupid offensive scheme was quick.

I am not saying another NFL team won't hire him, the chances of him having medium term success in the NFL is pretty thin at best. His crap can work at the college level depending on the team, school, conference, and other.

I want Nick to stay put at Bama, I'm ready to beat him.

This is silly. If he stays, no matter how good we are, this game will always be a dogfight. If he leaves, no one better is coming in and they will take a step back therefore becoming an easier win.

I hate that Kiffen crapped on UT,but make no mistakes about it. The guy can recruit & coach

Yea, that was one fine class that he brought into UT...didn't 2 or 3 of them actually last 4 years?

He also really coached up USCw, well enough to get canned anyway.

I think Chip Kelly coaches Texas in 2017 while Tom Herman coaches Texas A&M.

Chip Kelly comes with some baggage for the college program that hires him. He did get hit with an 18 month show cause penalty for failure to monitor recruiting over the Willie Lyles/ Lache Seastrunk scandal. It expired in 2014 but that could still be a tough sell for an AD to a Board of Trustees that cares about more than just winning. I'm not sure he would pass muster at Texas. Of course, Auburn would not flinch at it.

Yep. Just like it did for Bowden, and most of the others. It WILL NOT last forever. What goes ⬆must come ⬇. Eventually.

I agree. We may be on the cusp of getting wins against Saban in the upcoming years. Spurrier used to be the thorn in our side. He stuck around too long. Notice how he didn't want one last "L" to Tennessee? He conveniently quit just before he played us.

Would LOVE to get some W's against Saban and even Kiffin, where ever he lands. Won't be Bama though. Dabo Sweeny is heir apparent. And he is as scary as Saban is as a head coach. Don't know if I want him right away.

Chip Kelly at Auburn would give Nick Satan all he could handle.

I gave this a like, because it gave me a momentary feel-good. :good!:

A more likely scenario is that Dabo Sweeny schools Saban - Saban's pent up frustration with having to deal with a hypersensitive fan base after the loss pushes him to the NFL and Sweeny, a former Bama player, returns to Tuscaloosa as a replacement and does better than Saban. No feel-good in that sentence. :eek:hmy:

As bad as I hate to admit, Saban's defense has evolved. He now has lighter, faster players. His DL no longer has the 350lb guy who can't run. His LBs are no longer all the 250lb run-stop guys who can't cover. He moved corners to the safety positions to help the secondary.

The front 4 have the ability to wreck an offensive line, regardless of the scheme. I will cheer for Clemson, but I fully expect Alabama to maul them.

IMO he would be stupid to take it. He already has all the money he will ever need. He is a god in Alabama and has a chance to go down has the greatest college football coach of all time.

This is true.

But what happens when the Vols are kicking their asses every year? The seat will get hot. It might do Saban some good to get out while he's still on top.

Al Davis isn't exactly a great source. He turned that once great franchise into a joke. Not to mention the biggest reason he didn't get along with Kiffin was Kiffin wanted no part of JaMarcus Russell, and Davis wanted him to start. Kiffin got that one right.

Its simple. Nobody says no to 10 million. Will some NFL team dish out that much? We will see.

I'll go ahead and answer for you:

No. No one is going to make Saban the highest paid coach in the NFL by 2 million dollars.

LOL! Who do you think it was that made that franchise great in the first place? Sure, Al Davis should have relinquished control over operations in the 90's but I can think of a lot more things he got right in his career than Lane Kiffin ever has.
