Country music thread

I’d say they’re finished. Maybe 10 years down the road we might get a reunion of some sorts, but I’d say done for now.
Not hearing anything about Evan is troubling. I was hoping as spring hit we might at least get an update. I hope he’s OK more than anything. I’ll buy Nix’s album and hope for the best

One of my favorite songs ever actually. Now that I'm on the final countdown to 40 I feel it
I didn’t realize we were so close to the same age. I’m now 11 months to 40.

I treat Buffett much the same way you treat Pat. The songs most people go crazy for at his shows are songs I don’t care about. But there’s a treasure trove of songs that most people have never even heard or know exist that are lyrical masterpieces in my opinion.

Last Mango in Paris is likely my favorite, the "popular" songs are not bad but there's a definite oversaturation, though also to have mass appeal you can't really get into anything particularly deep or thoughtful

Death of an Unpopular Poet, African Friend and Defying Gravity are up there for me. Captain and the Kid is up there and is arguably in the list of popular songs so whatever. A college girlfriend took me to see him in Raleigh. She claimed I can’t call myself a Parrothead, but that I’m a bigger fan than most Parrotheads. I’ve always accepted that as where I stand.

Yep - absolutely no formal training and apparently he just likes to make music with his asshat buddies.

I know he signed with an agent or whatever then backed away from it, but whenever he finds some professionals he trusts, he’s going to be a star.
Says he’s going to be deployed again too, so it may take until he gets back for that to happen. Did you watch the documentary?

I watched some of it. He’s a total bro but at least the songwriting has substance. Idk. I think he got pissed when literally EVERYONE told him he has talent but needs someone to help him refine it.

Then apparently he met with Dave Cobb, the perfect guy to help him, but it didn’t go anywhere.
