Country music thread

Absolutely, too bad that Pat went Trashville, he was a legend with his initial style. Now he's like a suckier Tim McGraw.

I love listening to Boland, Bleu, Adam Carroll, and the countless others. Hearing Pat Green now makes me want to cut myself, when thinking of how great he was on the Red Dirt/Austin circuit

Bleu is awesome. I agree about Pat, although his live shows are still some of the best I've seen. He played at worlds fair 2 years ago before the Florida game... That is easily one of the top 5 shows I've seen.

Jamey Johnson's new album comes out on Tuesday. 25 songs and they will probably all be better than anything on radio right now.

The guitar song album from Jamey Johnson, I has it.

It is damn good.

probably too country for country, just like Johnny Cash.

Anyone know much about a new female artist that goes by Jessie James? A buddy of mine and his wife saw her at a bar in Indy over the weekend and said that besides being easy on the eyes she does a great job with todays country as well as the older Outlaw country tunes. Googled her pic and he was right about one thing!

Okay after doing some research on her i guess she's more famous than I knew...comes back with all kind of rumors of her and Reggie Bush being together? I had honestly never heard of her before..lol...My buddy said she was real cool and down to Earth, even joined them for a drink..

I used to live in Terra Haute, which town are you in? Does the Wabash still stink as bad as it did?

The Haute still and always will stink..lol...We are just south of Terre Haute around the Jasonville/Clay City area....small world!

"This is Country Music" by Brad Paisly= My new favorite song!!

I'm really not a fan. Like most other Nashville cookie cutters that show up with lots of potential, they abandon what got them there and start putting out pre fab crap.

I've been really liking Casey Donahew lately.

this is true with so many acts.

Here's to hoping now that Blake Shelton has won some major awards, he doesn't mix things up.

there's a lot of new country I can really get into. Blake Shelton, Craig Morgan, Miranda Lambert, a lot of the new Trace Adkins stuff seems to be going back to his older stuff, Jason Aldean (who cheats on the rock side, but so many on here claim that Hank III is somehow the definition of true country), Chris Young, Josh Turner, Luke Bryan, Joe Nichols, Billy Currington, Lee Brice, Easton Corbin, Gary Allan is still solid and I like that Thompson Square song, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?". I'm hopeful these artists will eliminate Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, etc from country's airwaves. I even like Lady Antebellum.

I like Gary Allan and Miranda Lambert. Blake Shelton has some hits but he misses a lot too.

I respect Brad Paisley because he's a good musician but some of his stuff is way too corny. Eric Church is pretty good too.

Jamey Johnson is legit as is the Zac Brown Band.

I don't really care for many others at all

While I'm not a fan of some of his songs, I am in love with the melody style of Darius Rucker. If you didn't recognize his voice, you'd know it was his song when you hear the subtle/slight variation of the melody on each verse of a song. It's something I've come to really appreciate from him.

I'm a huge fan of Jamey Johnson and the Zac Brown Band. Eric Church's "drink a little drink, smoke a little smoke", is one of the dumbest songs I've ever heard imo.
