Country music thread

Every girl is BJ’s dream writing. An incredibly upbeat song that’s actually an incredibly deep painful song. No wonder he’s such a fan/friend of the boys from Tahlequah

It’s not really hidden in The Funeral so much 😂😂
Funeral definitely lacks in the subtlety factor.

Amazing thing about Felker is if I stumbled on your post tomorrow instead of tonight two completely different sets of lyrics would have probably jumped to mind

It’s one reason I didn’t answer. It changes regularly. And I’ve discussed that

The Funeral is one of my faves, I get it. Not knocking my family but I get it.

Felker really has way too many. Blue Star reminds me of me getting so excited to see my dad's younger brother Jim as a kid when he was home on leave, and in turn Jim's kids acting like I was Audie Murphy every time I was back in town.

If you ask me tonight Pay No Rent is the tits.

Really digging the John Anderson tribute album.
I was surprised to learn that Seminole Wind was never a #1.

Odd kid memories but my neighbor would take me fishing after school since Dad worked 3rds then, and that had heavy radio spins. Must have been 86 or 87

Edit : Fork it was 1992. Time plays tricks on the brain.

Thats just annoying. Like when Turnpike Jinks and Reckless played within 2 hours of each other on the same Saturday. Of course Turnpike ended up having their issues so we drove over to Shelby for Reckless.

Departed's Lonely Girl will be released to radio next week. That means 0 for 98% of 'country radio' stations, but I'll be shirtless in a straw resistol in the bed of the truck like it's the Armored Cavalry days all over again if I hear 17 on the radio

Only thing I need to change about that song is “I was born in the shade of a sugar maple, the proud Southern son of Tennessee.”

Everything else is the most eloquent expression of me and my decades long beliefs I’ve ever heard.
I am gonna revisit this one. I want to talk to BJ about it but dont want to hold up the line.

"Old men still defend their monuments to treason". Kinda irks me.

"
This memorial is dedicated to the memory of the men who served in the 1st (PACS), 7th and 14th Tennessee Infantry Regiments, Archer’s Brigade, Heth’s Division, Third Army Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.

They fought and died for their convictions, performing their duty as they understood it."

The last line does it for me.

At the end of the day, you’re both right imo. You being right doesn’t change the accuracy his lyrics. Not going to start an argument though

Me either. Didnt mean it that way at all big sarge. But we do have room to grow here, while holding on to what makes us who we are.
