Country music thread

Someone posted it a LONG time ago and I've just come to realize it's true. If Eric Church didn't introduce his new albums with some horrific 3 Doors Down/80s hair band/Nickelback combination songs, I probably would be a really big fan. Whatever that disaster was he played at the CMAs with Jr not included, what I've heard from Mr. Misunderstood is actually really, really good.

He's really good, though to be financially successful I suppose you need to release crap for the country radio crowd in order to have the opportunity to record the better stuff.

The dark haired chick from little big town, was killing that pants suit she wore on the CMA;s

I didn't download Stapleton's whole album but did get Tennessee Whiskey, and one from Steeledrivers....

Traveller is a great album imo. I'd recommend "Fire Away", "Whiskey and You", "More of You", "The Devil Named Music", "When the Stars Come Out" and "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore"

one of the craziest performances I've ever seen on the cma's. I hadn't heard of this guy but now I'm definitely getting some of his music.

Love the fact that Turnpike Troubadours were featured on Sunday Night Football this week. That's a band that should get a whole lot more attention.

You realize that "disaster." Was a Waylon song, right? Lol

I love Waylon,George, dac, etc. but I also like hank3,church, Stapleton, Moore, etc. quit being stubborn.

I can't stand fl ga line. I went to a show, but not for me.

Maybe it wasn't FL GA line. Whoever in bro country it was that let someone you know play or whatever the favor was.

You know full well that Waylon never played his version with 12 blaring electric guitars

I know colt ford pretty good, he's a good friend, but I wouldn't call him bro country. Don't know what he is, really. No, he didn't. I'll give you that. Lol

I call his "rebel within." Album and "broke, love sick, and drifting." Albums country, but I don't like his metal stuff.

Your punctuation confuses me entirely but Risin' Outlaw, Damn Right Rebel Proud and much of Straight to Hell were very much country also.

Good Alan Jackson article on deadspin today

Just read it. Alan Jackson fueled my love for country and in my eyes he's every bit as good, if not better, than many of the legends we remember today. I hope history and time are as kind to him as he deserves. He is an absolute living legend.
