Country music thread

I like country, I listen to everything, it all depends on what I am doing, I cant dance to country like I can dance to HipHop, I cant relax to HipHop like I can classical or Jazz, I love AC/DC and classic rock, it's all in what I am doing, and who I'm with, as to what tunes I'm listening too.

I like old country music. Hank Williams Jr and Sr, Waylon, Willie, David Allan Coe, Johnny Cash, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kentucky Headhunters, George Strait etc

I hate most of the new stuff. I do like Brad Paisley, Gary Allen and Eric Church.

Miranda Lambert is hot. She is no way too skinny.

don't forget Merle and the the Possum. I'm also a big fan of Alabama, Alan Jackson, CDB, and Chris Ledoux.

Chris Ledoux was the MAN!!!...no one ever put on a better live show!!!!

On a side note...Does it bother anyone else that the Eagles are now being pushed as country???

What ever makes money is what they are looking at..Its all about money...

:eek:lol: I met that guy in a BBQ place in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He really is a redneck.

Yeah, I met him at Sams Town in Tunica while i was playing blackjack. He is a redneck but a very nice guy. We both won money that night. Good times..

The Eagles have always been considered at least somewhat country. They don't have a specific genre.

"This Cowboy's Hat" is one of my Ledoux favorites.

i like bareback jack, little long haired outlaw, and you just can't see him from the road.

This cowboy's hat is special though. As a nondipper, I find copenhagen angel more enjoyable than copenhagen. So wish I could've seen Ledoux live.

I just dont think Miranda Lambert is a stick, I think she looks great. It's all about genetics and to each his own my friend.

I'm a fan of Patsy Cline.

Well, I just got back from Nashville after attending the CMA Awards last night. I love country music and in fact make a living because of the format in radio. I love old and new country. In fact I attend the CMA Awards every year. I love everything about country music. My parents raised me on the older country, but I love the new quite a bit as well. I love the radio station that I work for because they do such a great job of mixing the old with the new country together.

We had a great week down in Nashville. Spent Sunday night listening to some great local talent while downing Jack and Miller Lite with some hot chicks from Myrtle Beach at Tootsies. Made a quick trip down to Lynchburg on Monday(its a ritual for us on CMA week to go down for part of a day.) Tuesday was a great time as we had the chance to hang out with the beautiful Sara Evans before her mini show in front of the Sommet Center...where Emerson Drive and Phil Vasser performed. We were backstage with Sara a few weeks ago when she kicked off her first headlining tour in FortWayne. I called in a favor and we got to watch the tuesday night show at the Ryman Auditorium of the Grand Ole Opry. What a thrill this was to be standing on the edge of the stage watching Jimmy C Newman, Little Jimmy Dickens, John Conlee, Colin Raye and Clay Walker perform(I would like to add how HOT Clays new wife is!!!)

Our seats for the CMA's were 9 rows from the stage and directly behind where Brad and Carrie were sitting. One thing that I noticed when Carrie won, was that the other artists who have been around a while clapped, but didnt appear to be overly excited that she had won yet again. Did that come across on tv? Watching Kellie Pickler barely get thru her song because she was living her dream and the song about her life really brought her emotions out and the entire arena to their feet when she finally got the word "Tennessee" out at the end of her song. The upset of Sugarland over Brooks and Dunn was kind of a surprise(although I voted for Sugarland, thought they had a much better year in country music than B and D.) And the Eagles performance was also very enjoyable to watch.

The post award show parties rocked! Hanging out and meeting Jessica Simpson was the highlight of the night. Free food and free alcohol was also a pretty good way to end the night at the parties we attended.

By the way, if in Nashville, I highly recommend booking a suite on the 11th floor of the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. Very nice 4 star hotel and our room overlooked Vandy U. The suite is very large with 2 flat screens(TO WATCH HIGHLIGHTS OF UK GETTING BEAT.) Staying there just put the cherry on top of a great week loaded with good times in Nashville.

1. Sara Evans YES I AGREE HOT SEXY AND TALENTED!
2. Toby Keith I DONT RANK HIM THIS HIGH, PUTS ON A GREAT SHOW BUT DOES NOT GET THE RESPECT HE DESERVES WITH THE ACM AND CMA.
3. Miranda Lambert VERY COOL TO BE AROUND AND CHAT WITH...BLAKE SHELTON IS ONE LUCKY DOG!

4. Jason Aldean THIS DUDE KNOWS HOW TO ROCK! WILL GET TO SEE HIM SOON AT BALL STATE.

5. Carrie Underwood VERY EASY ON THE EYES, BUT I GET THE FEELING SHE HAS NOT COMPLETELY EARNED THE RESPECT SHE DESERVES FROM OTHER ARTISTS WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND A WHILE.

6. Rascal Flatts GREAT GROUP, DIDNT SOUND THAT GOOD LAST NIGHT THOUGH.

7. Gretchen Wilson CAREER IS STARTING TO DWINDLE DOWN A LIL WITHOUT ANY HIT SONGS LATELY.
8. Tim McGraw GREAT TO DRINK TEQUILA AND BUD LIGHT WITH AFTER CONCERTS!
9. Kenny Chesney LOVE TALKING VOL FOOTBALL WITH HIM EVERYTIME I RUN INTO HIM AFTER OR BEFORE ONE OF HIS SHOWS. LOVE TO INTERVIEW HIM ON THE AIR WHENEVER I GET THE CHANCE.
10. Faith Hill UH, YES HOT BEAUTIFUL AND HAS ATTITUDE. GREAT MOM TO HER GIRLS AND PUTS ON ONE GREAT CONCERT!

Lets not forget Rodney Atkins, 3 #1 songs out of the gate and I was surprised he did not win the Horizon Award last night.

Taylor Swift...wow, wait, only 17 but very beautiful and very very nice.

I could go on and on and on, but after staying up almost all night last night partying on music row and at the convention center...I need to get some catch up sleep!

I don't know if I've seen Alan Jackson's name yet.

Hank Williams Sr.
Dwight Yokam
Wiskeytown
Sawyer Brown
Nashville Skyline

Dumas Walker always makes me smile. And I oddly like that song "Some Beach." But it's a damn Mustang in the video, and that bothers me.

alan jackson is the greatest country singer ever with george strait a close second. everyone else is far behind.

Malcolm's 5 greatest COUNTRY songs ever
1.)Golden Band (George Jones)
2.) Jambalaya {On The Bayou} Hank Williams
3.) Will The Circle Be Unbroken (The Carter Family)
4.) Stranger To the Rain (Keith Whitley)

Honorable mention: Tight Fittin Jeans(Conway Twitty), He Stopped Loving Her Today(George Jones) Good Hearted Woman(Waylon Jennings) Walkin The Floor Over You(Ernest Tubbs) Act Naturally(Buck Owens) im gonna stop listing cause it's not possible to have a top 5

amarillo by morning is the greatest country western song of all time. as a former bullrider, i have heard that song and played that song so many times that i can sing it backwards. i don't sing, however.
