Country music thread

amarillo by morning is the greatest country western song of all time. as a former bullrider, i have heard that song and played that song so many times that i can sing it backwards. i don't sing, however.

Really? I don't think 'Amarillo by Morning ranks in the top half of Chris Ledoux's songs, but whatever works for ya

About four years ago, I predicted that Toby would begin the next generation of the "Outlaws" and leave Nashville. I am still waiting.

Chris Ledoux wrote it and sung it first.

George Strait made it famous

Ledoux originally sang the song, but Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser wrote Amarillo by Morning.

I've never seen the album or heard it from Ledoux, just knew he sang it. Ironically, while ranked as the 12th best country song of all time, Amarillo by Morning was not a number one hit for George Strait.

Really? I could've swore I read somewhere that Ledoux wrote it. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I would appreciate it if Toby would return to the dust bowl...I mean Oklahoma, and refrain from singing ever again. While I admire his efforts to support the troops, his music is redundant and lacks substance. Please, by all means Toby supporters, promptly put a "boot in my a$$". :focus:

Sorry dude, we can agree on most things but you cant sell me on this one. I'll take my visual whipping I suppose.

gotcha,,, ill have to download the ledoux version

The Chris Ledoux version is pretty rough, recording wise. It was made back when he was on the rodeo trail, selling tapes for gas and food money, not in the post "Whatcha gonna do" duet with Garth days.

I have it on the American Cowboy set, don't know that it's on any store CD's

anyone like Randy Travis?

I do, he's old school, dressed with class like the old time Opry Singers.

On that note, there was a song i had on my computer maybe 7-8 years ago that was about 'Young Guns'

"Young Guns who were driven, by hatred and anger, with no way to win in the end.... etc" and it named all the characters from the movie and such.

Haven't been able to find it. The guy singing is a dead ringer voice wise for Randy, but it's not on any of his discographys, and i havent been able to find anything online...anyone know what i'm talking about?

I have to say that Miranda Lambert is even hotter in person, that picture does not even do her justice as to her "hottness!"

I loved the Mavericks! In fact at last years CMA post awards party, Raul was the parties entertainment, he still sounded wonderful!

the mavericks have an incredible sound and raul's voice is classic.

George Strait made it famous

chris ledoux is a talent that is missed and will never be replaced. also, if you are ever lucky enough to meet george strait, whether you like his singing or not, you become a fan. both unique and genuine individuals.
