I'll never bother with a live Pat Green show again. Just played steaming Nashville **** piles.

Here We Go and Dancehall Dreamer almost saved the day but then he started Wave on Wave and we left.

Casey Donahew was great as always, and Wade Bowen and Eli Young held their own.

He started with Nashville crap Wednesday but played for over two hours and went all Texas the last half.

Would never go to see Pat unless it was him and Cory together for that exact reason, a lot of that later stuff is absolutely unlistenable.

It’s funny though, we sat next to Texans and they were bashing Eli Young because of their recent stuff.

How was the rest of the crowd reacting to what Pat was playing? I got the sense we were in a heavy relocated Texas crowd and that Pat changed the playlist as they went along to honor the crowd. There was little reaction to the Nashville stuff, but it really came alive when he played Billy The Kid, Take Me Out To A Dancehall, and Songs About Texas.

There was definitely a lot of people at the coat check once he did wave on wave.

Eli Young actually got a good reaction, probably because Eli Young is well, Eli Young. They did what they do more or less.

Interesting. I wouldn’t give up on him just yet, but you’re a grown man.

For the record, I went with an 11C friend who deployed with 2nd Cav

Bill are you in NVA or back in Short Pump? Reason I ask is a girl from Short Pump is going to our tailgate for Turnpike in Lexington

Childers put on one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. I’ve never heard the Bijou sound like that. Everyone knew every word to every song and that place was swaying.

I think Nightmare, Three Days and Take Me Out To a Dancehall are the only worthwhile songs. A lot of the changes they made ruin the vibe of the respective song. Crazy is a good example of that. Dancehall Dreamer is the worst imo. Totally screws up the song imo. Pat gives it a slight optimistic vibe, like eventually things will turn around. It’s the saddest song on the tribute.

Cory tries to make Adios Days a happy song. Wtf?

Jinks,Ward, and whitey all have new records coming out in the next few months, And Austin lee has an ep coming out soon. And on top of all that, blackberry smoke released their new one last night. Good music everywhere.

Tojours and I have repeatedly expressed how we don’t usually care for recent patriotic songs, but “Dress Blues” is Isbell’s second best song. It’s fantastic
