I'd like to just go ahead and put it out there and hopefully preempt the craziness that's going to ensue on this forum.
We're very much.. really.. most likely.. undoubtedly.. honestly.. admittedly.. probably not going to win even while wearing our super, spectacular, outstanding, magical, gray uniforms.
To anyone under the impression that the uniforms are going to help, sorry, but these uniforms don't harness the powers of Zeus, Ares, Hermes, Eric Berry, or Peyton Manning.
So before hitting the SUBMIT button on your "my crazy, unrealistic expectations weren't met" thread, give this some thought.
:good!:
Realist.
Something i HAD to get off my mind.... As of late I have noticed some incredibly disgusting things from UT fans. Most of them are more embarrassing than what our team is doing on the field, and that alone is saying something. So with that said, I have a few things I would like to say to The Tennessee Volunteer football fan base.
First of all, grow up. Since when does it matter what color jersey a team wears? Since when does that determine the outcome of a game? If our team wants to spruce up and wear something different it is our duty as a fan base to stand behind them and cheer for them. It is not okay for us to whine and argue about whether or not they look awful.
Second of all, stand behind your coach. If he makes a decision to start a certain quarterback, that is his call. Sure, his call may suck, but whining and *****ing about it doesn't solve anything. Instead why don't you stand up, cheer, and support your team. Booing a kid on the field is low. He is out there trying to prove himself to everyone, not just his coach, his parents, his teammates, but everyone who happens to watch a UT football game.
Third of all, learn to have some PATIENCE. And if you can't do that, pray for some. To continue with supporting our coach: Why are people already after his head? He has come into a program that is in the dirt. He didn't put us there. He had nothing to do with that. There are many other people you can thank for that, but don't hold that over his head. He is slowly digging us out of the ground, washing away all the dirt, and trying to make us shine as a program again. That is not going to happen over night. To expect for it to is just ludicrous. Trust in him, give him time, and help him. He is after all trying to rebuild our favorite football program "brick by brick".
In conclusion, we have got to stand behind our team. We have to be on our feet and cheering in the stands. We have to put in at least a little bit of positive effort. When our voices are out-shined by our opponent's fans in OUR house, that's a problem. We should always be able to come together and cheer with our whole hearts to make Neyland Stadium rock. We need to create that incredibly electric atmosphere that everyone loves. We can't just expect to go in there and let the team do all of the work. They need to know that we stand behind them regardless of what's happening on the field. So stand up, get people involved in some positive chants, and love your Vols.
I love The University of Tennessee Volunteers. My blood runs orange. Saturdays in Tennessee during the fall are honestly my favorite time of the year. However, our fan base has been not only embarrassing but disgusting. I would almost go as far as to call us the worst in the country but I'll save that for Florida fans. If you don't like what is going on with the Vols then stop being a Vol fan and go hop on whatever bandwagon peeks your interest. I hear Bama and Florida have some openings on their wagons. Stop being negative, get off your butt and cheer, and Go Vols
