WRONG. Any street in Memphis at night is dangerous as this just proved. I would NEVER allow my wife or daughter to run alone at night in Memphis. Would not happen. Wouldn’t allow them to run in many areas in the daytime either. Sad to say but it was a bad error in judgement on her part.I drive in to work at 5:30AM - see scores of runners out. Usually the coolest part of the day.
The area she was running in would not at all be considered dangerous.
It is not victim shaming when you point out a bad decision that contributed to her death. If she had not been running alone at night in a dangerous city, she would still be alive. Period. It is also OK to point out that regardless of color, Mr Abston is evil personified and immediately after the verdict is rendered (if guilty) should be taken out behind the courthouse and executed. It will be a travesty if Mulroy capitulates to anything but the death penalty and it will be sad that Abston will sit on death row for 20 years before he takes a dirt nap. (Assuming the Mulroy doesn’t cave to the pressure in this town.)Maybe she should have moved to the middle of nowhere in Iowa like Mollie Tibbetts...
Victim shaming is a new low, even for you
And I’ve lived in the Memphis area for 45 years so don’t bother asking where I reside. I know this town and it’s the reason why I live in Collierville. It is not victim shaming when you point out a bad decision that contributed to her death. And there are bad people from “certain areas” that are now venturing outside of those areas to commit crimes. The suburbs are seeing an uptick in activity as well.I suspect this aspect of the story will blow up soon.
Contrary to public opinion, most of the crime in Memphis is concentrated in certain areas and is almost all gang related.
This kidnapping and murder is different since it hits a part of the city with limited crime and isn't gang related.
This attack happened at the University of Memphis, which statistically speaking, is far safer than UTK.
I like being in relationships with people with common sense. Like not running alone on a Memphis street at night. Little things like that.Put your foot down. lol. How masculine.
I am the male in the relationship. I voice an opinion. She is free to agree or disagree and make her decision accordingly. I don't like being in relationships with children. Kudos to you though.
It was not “her fault” that some cretin was cruising the streets and abducted and killed her. Wrong place, wrong time and I absolutely feel sick for her and her family and this city. It was a bad error in judgement to run by herself on a Memphis city street at night. Period. Glad I could clarify that for you.So it was her fault...Unreal.

You know Joe is a habitual LIAR don't you? Politicians say anything to win elections.
They also lied when they said Joe was & will govern as a moderate. Joe is a Trojan Horse.
That was harsh in terms of what happened to her. My apologies. She made an error in judgement. My point stands that this is a dangerous city and nobody should run by themselves at night. Especially a lone female. That’s all I’m saying. If you do, there can be consequences. That really wasn't necessary.
The animal was released from prison four years early. If the animal had served its full sentence, Eliza Fletcher would be alive today.
