Crime Ridden Memphis

They're just feeding off the vibes being put out by Memphis officials and law enforcement. The police chief yesterday or today makes it sound like this will look as physically bad as Rodney King. The city is trying to get ahead of it so nobody can accuse them of trying to downplay the actions.

I'm wondering why they suspended the two Memphis Fire Department guys that carried him in the ambulance. Hopefully it's nothing more the procedural precaution while they do a full investigation and they did everything they were supposed to.

Think I also heard today other MPD officers are being investigated in connection to this besides those 5.

Some of us have been here for many generations and have assets, businesses and long social histories here. You don't just pack up and move overnight.
My family as far back as I know is from there. I did just that, packed up and moved overnight in 2003. All my family followed and moved out by 2006.

After watching the video, it makes Rodney King look like a pillow fight.

This is going to get ugly.

Does the video show everything from the beginning of the stop through the beating and whatever got the paramedics in trouble. I’d like to know what was said or done to light the fire under those 5 LEO…..,because I want to make sure I don’t do it

There's a full dashcam/body cam of the full stop.

I saw the seconds leading up to the misconduct and the brief aftermath. If I had to guess why the non-LEO first responders were in trouble was because they didn't report the misconduct. They initially just left after watching.

When the video comes out, you will see a cuffed man maced, tased, and beaten to death. It's barbarous and sick.

From what I've gathered, he was pulled over because the car was mistaken for one that was being simultaneously flagged. It was apparent that he realized he was mistaken for someone else and, being a black man in a city of violent crime, his first instict was to attempt to flee 5 cops who were already drawing firearms. Obviously, it didn't bode well for him but at the same time, we can't put ourselves in that situation and say for certain what our instincts would drive us to do.

They never learn.

I'm listening to the family this morning. The dad said that there were 10-12 other officers on the scene that night and did nothing. Said the firefighters didn't render aid, and said the paramedics didn't even get out of the truck. He also said that nichols was placed on the ground and propped up against a car and he slumped over 3 times and officers kept propping him back up and called him a mother fricker.

They never learn.

Oh **** off. You haven't watched the video.

If 5 armed men violently rip you out of your car for simply asking "what did I do?" and you have the correct instinct to realize you are in a life-threatening situation, let's see if you stay put.

He wasn't running when they had him subdued and cuffed, before they beat him to death. They broke his neck. They ****ed him up so bad that his kidneys failed.
