Crime Ridden Memphis

Police all over the country have a huge cultural problem and it's getting worse. Police departments are either encouraging or at a minimum turning a blind eye to the gang like behavior on the force. Steroids are a big problem within police forces.

I definitely agree with the steroids - no place for them. I think there's a second part, too. Cops believing they are quasi military and anybody else is the enemy. Perhaps it's an unfair assessment, but I'm getting the feeling some cops are cops because they are not qualified or too undisciplined to be military, too lazy to be military, or not willing to face a real enemy; so they become military wannabees. That's in addition to seeing some (not all by a long shot) as bullies who like the the sense of power and entitlement over others. We probably need to claw back all the military toys that have been handed out to police departments, pull the military BDUs (or whatever the current term is), and put cops in the kind of highly marked cars and uniforms you see in Europe. This us vs them thing needs to go.

America on edge: Protests are planned nationwide over Tyre Nichols bodycam video - as Georgia Gov. Kemp activates 1,000 National Guard troops, district cancels all after-school activities and security is ramped up at Capitol Hill

  • Governor Brian Kemp, 59, has declared a state of emergency until Tuesday, February 9, ahead of the Tyre Nichols bodycam footage being released
  • Atlanta was embroiled in an anti-cop protest over the weekend, which saw protesters shooting off fireworks and lighting a police vehicle on fire
  • Ahead of Nichols' footage, Georgia declared an emergency and brought in the National Guard as it 'closely monitors the events in Memphis'
Government officials are calling for calm ahead of the planned nationwide protests over the Tyre Nichols bodycam footage, which will be released tonight, as the Georgia governor activated 1,000 National Guard troops and Capitol Hill amped up security.

Many cities, including Memphis and New York City, are gearing up to protest after the gruesome footage, which has been described as worse than Rodney King, on the Memphis Police Department's YouTube page at 7pm. Police are releasing the footage later a night to allow people to get home beforehand.

This is going to get ugly. I hope things don’t get out of control with more people getting hurt.

The amazing part in all this is that nobody seems to be learning any lessons. Cops keep up the behavior, and people keep trying to resist. Are we really this dumb as a society, or are we just too unwilling to address problems?

Except we shouldn't live in a society where even a minute level of resistance is an instant bypass of the judicial system.

The policemen charged are all black, yet the Marxists are screaming it's RACISM.

It is so effing ignorant. Always easy to get upset with the wrong doer, which appear to obviously be the cops here. But if you don’t ever look in the mirror and get honest with yourself, the shtt isn’t gonna change.

Tucker Carlson Tonight, Hannity, and Laura Ingraham, will be preempted tonight to show fires blazing during mostly peaceful protests.
