Crime Ridden Memphis

Yeah how dare they protest? When cops murder someone you’re supposed to say “thank you” and love on them even more
Nobody cares that they protest lol, we can all protest as Americans lol.. the issue is the arson, crime, and violence that accompanied the whole BLM stuff…. My attorney neighbor and I argued about this for about a week in 2020 lol.. it ended with her saying they could could do it anyway they wanted, and me saying that she was actually being condescending to black people because she is secretly thinking that they don’t know any better

White supremacy is the cause of the pandemic, inflation, poverty, urban decay, global warming and hemorrhoids

Also the delay in EA Sports releasing NCAA football…. And the fact that I went fishing in 35 degree weather this morning and got skunked. It’s all whiteys fault.

I don't think "my utopia" as you put it is ever going to exist. I do think it's perfectly fine for people to be angry as a community when five of the people that are supposed to protect them beat a man to death while their colleagues watch and EMS doesn't bother to render aid after its over.

This wasn't one bad actor. This was a bunch of cops, some actively and some passively, doing the exact opposite of their job
Those 5 officers have been charged with murder. What else do you want? An immediate public execution?

No. But I don't see any problem with the community being angry about the fact this happened and I do think it's a sign of institutional issues within certain police departments.
New York, Atlanta, LA. Should anyone be protesting, rioting, etc there because of this? Is it an issue with Memphis? If there are angry protesters and rioters regardless of the actions taken, then the protests mean nothing, therefore, actual issues aren't fixed.

Children offer these lessons on human nature.

Protest away.

Protest or riot? Many times when cops kill someone it is justified. Many of the BLM riots were ridiculously stupid as the cops action was justified. All BLM did was enrich a few grifters and make conditions worse for many low income inner city blacks.

Just absolutely wild to me that some people see this man beaten to death and think “well that’s what people get for being too mean to the cops recently”

Idk. I think when your beat down ends in you dying, then that elevates it above any where the guy survived.
I'd say true in most cases. This dudes beat down wasn't any worse the the ones I mentioned. Maybe he just had weak bones and internal organs? King took a lickin and kept on ticking (for a while). The Thomas dude straight endured a massive, massive beatdown before dying.

Full disclosure, unless I missed something or watched a heavily edited video, this dude got punched a few times and was on the receiving end of pepper spray and a baton. Seemed to be over pretty quick.

Didn’t look like we got a good view of many of the blows he took to the head while on the ground.

Van Jones already doing the Lord's work on that

So from that article:
Self-hatred is a real thing.

That’s why a Black store owner might regard customers of his same race with suspicion, while treating his White patrons with deference. Black people can harbor anti-Black sentiments and can act on those feelings in harmful ways.

Interesting angle he is working. Black store owners are worried about black customers because of self hatred. Yeah..Van..that ain't it.

Why are we still naming aggressive/elite/tactical teams “Scorpions”?

Would make my skin crawl.

It’s an acronym. I’m more concerned about the military grade Kevlar and assault rifles And the APCs. Yes Memphis is an S hole, but the average citizens don’t have to feel like they’re living in the West Bank.

He is trying to oversimplify something that is extremely charged, nuanced, and complicated and individualized.. everyone has different experiences that they take with them on how they view the world

I understand that it is an acronym.

They still chose to refer to themselves as ‘Scorpions’ and someone in leadership still ok’d it.

To clear up any confusion, according to the media, politians, etc.. Black people protest, white people riot. Completely ignore past issues. No matter how much destruction was done, black people were just protesting. White people are to blame for their actions & should be held accountable for everything

It was to make the toy soldiers feel like Navy Seals. If I gave you ten dollars for every citizen that knew about the name I could still pay my bills. I doubt they were advertising it on the side of their unmarked HEMIS. It was poor judgement but would have never come to light if it weren’t for these knuckleheads. I’d be willing to bet that Knoxville has a similar “tactical. Unit equipped with military surplus. Atlanta absolutely does.
