Critical race theory and elections

That's the illusion that the racist right wing Trumpsters are promoting. There really is no such thing as critical race theory in the mainstream. It's classic strawman tactics and labels.
Not mainstream? CNN not considered mainstream anymore. I guess that's good news.

Don Lemon drags critical race theory critics: 'Stop making it about you'

Either you don't pay attention and are ignorant on the current events or you're a liar. Either way, you disqualify yourself yet again.

Actually, no. There are outliers like exist in any large group, but by and large an overwhelming majority of America's public universities work diligently to fulfill their academic and research missions.

I'm sorry that you can't see that, and that Newsertainment has continually misrepresented the reality of what really happens at most colleges and universities.
How’s that myth working for you

How’s that myth working for you

You tell me, since you obviously know everything.

I rather enjoy how lived experience here is maybe fifth fiddle, possibly sixth, to what Newsertainment blasts out.

I could write the ****ing curriculum and you'd tell me I didn't know what it said.

College President Claims 'Critical Race Theory Is the New Communism,' Means It as a Compliment

Critical Race Theory is increasingly becoming a point of American contention.

It seems we’re in the midst of a cultural revolution, but there’s opposition afoot.

As CRT gets infused into corporate training and school lesson plans, citizens become more vocal, for or against.

And at California’s Saddleback College, the president’s speaking out.

In an open letter commemorating Juneteenth, Dr. Elliot Stern offers a curious comparison.

The president claims, “Critical Race Theory is the new Communism.”

The interesting thing: He means it as a compliment to CRT.

As you surely know, on June 17th, Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday.

There’s been tremendous talk about “institutionalized racism” as of late; Elliot says the scourge has been accomplished by slavery.

And because of the blight, now some black children can’t conceive of becoming president…or doing advanced math:

Tucker Carlson slams Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley as a 'stupid pig' for defending teaching of critical race theory in the military - and says he only got the job because he 'knows who to suck up to'

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has leveled harsh criticism at General Mark Milley, calling the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff 'stupid' and 'a pig' after he staunchly defended teaching critical race theory to military officers.

Milley said in his testimony: 'I do think it's important for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read. I want to understand "white rage" and I am white. I want to understand it. What is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America?'

Carlson raged in response: 'Hard to believe that man wears a uniform. He's that unimpressive. What is white rage? It's one of those diseases that only affects people with certain melanin levels.'

'It is a race-specific illness. That is what Mark Milley learned from reading about it, that's why he's making the soldiers read about it too. They need to know!' Carlson added.

The conservative pundit went on to play an additional clip of Milley's testimony, in which he said: 'I've read Karl Marx, I've read Lenin, that doesn't make me me a communist. What is wrong with having some situational understanding of the country which we are here to defend? It's offensive that we are accusing our military, our general officers, our noncommissioned officers who are coming up, of being "Woke."'

'He's not just a pig, he's stupid,' said Carlson, laughing. 'He reads communists to understand communism, but it's interesting he doesn't read white supremacists to understand white supremacy. Why not go to the source?'

Needs to be done. China will destroy us if we ever fought.

There was a time when mature and professional people used to be capable of showing an appropriate level of respect for another person's achievements and service, while also in the process of disagreeing with them on one specific topic. We could have debates with each other and maintain civil discourse. In the partisan environment in which we currently reside, we no longer agree to disagree with each other and move on. Nowadays, (and Trump was as guilty as anyone of this) a person being wrong on one topic at hand (in your opinion) means that they are stupid and everything else they have ever done in life was also either "overrated" or porous. I think both Milley and Carlson have made fools of themselves here. It's embarrassing to read. I also think Carlson needs a dose of self-awareness if he thinks his lot in life even approaches what Milley has accomplished. Milley, on the other hand, should have been above the fray here and kept his opinions to himself.

When he used the term "white rage" he demeaned himself and the country. To attribute rage or a specific type of rage to a race he's participating in racism. A leader of men, paid by taxpayers no less. If he had attributed irrational rage to people of color he would have been asked to step down, and rightfully so. It isn't about being above the fray, he's actively participating in it. It's shameful.

Milley should have stayed out of this, but your take is melodramatic. It doesn't diminish Milley's service... and I have said the same things about General Michael Flynn and his bizarre and unprofessional PizzaGate beliefs and Q'Anon advocacy. So, that is not being expressed from the standpoint of political partisanship either.

Watching the local channel Saturday morning news/current events program. They are interviewing an elementary school teacher on this. The opening question - how are you teaching race relations to kids in your class room.

My immediate first thought on asking an elementary teacher that - WHY are you teaching race relations to kids in your class room.

Scary that they would even think it's appropriate to ask this question. Any answer from the teacher other than it is not my job to pit races against each other but to ask my students to respect each other and we're here to learn would make me want to take my kid out the classroom.

There are still the effects felt of systemic racism in this country. Some examples include how the military treated black soldiers with regard to the GI Bill. Also, take a look at why certain drugs were made illegal in the first place. Look at sentencing guidelines for crack that were in place. Look at sentencing disparities between minorities and whites. It cannot be overstated what impact the destruction of the black family unit had on future generations.
Were, were, were so I’ll ask the question. Since all these things have already changed and racism seems to be snowballing according to the “victims” and their “guardians” what’s the end look like? US has had a black President, numerous senators and judges, billionaire titans of industry, free college at Ivy League schools, yet the the entire system is against all blacks. So give me the picture of what it looks like when utopia is reached?

And BLM wants to further the destruction of the nuclear family. But it’s a real positive movement.

“As a philosopher of race and racism, I can safely say that critical race theory does not assert the following:

(1) One race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex;

(2) An individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, is inherently privileged, racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously;

(3) An individual should be discriminated against or receive adverse treatment because of the individual’s race or sex;

(4) An individual’s moral character is determined by the individual’s race or sex;

(5) An individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex;

(6) An individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or another form of psychological distress solely because of the individual’s race or sex.”

Do you really think the same posters who don't understand the difference between socialism, communism, and Marxism and can't go two threads without using epithets, insults, and othering have the wherewithal to read, much less internalize, any of that?

Why do you and huff assume people don’t understand these things? Huff used one source about CRT. CRT teaches racisim and indoctrinates people in a way that fosters a certain ideology.

So please stop assuming those things
