Cuanzo has amazed me

I hope Tobias is enjoying his unpaid assistant coaching job at Alcoa. He would have flourished under Martin.

I'm sure he's been enjoying working further towards his degree and will enjoy starting up the NBA season on Christmas. To try and imply that Harris made a bad choice is asinine. I would love to have him this year as much as anybody, but I'm not going to take pleasure in imagining him regretting his decision like some people on this board.

He is still getting paid based off of future earnings while working towards a degree and helping coach high school basketball. I wish I could have made such a bad decision with my life.

The proof for this team will be the SEC season. Early non-conference games for the most part are not always a great indicator of the team. I see at best a .500 team if there are no injuries. Much less if there are injuries. I do not see NCAA tourney in the cards this year. Not even NIT. Did you see the Oakland game last night? The Hawaii adventure was just an illusion..........

I would not base too much on the game last night. It was a circle the calendar game for Oakland. We also had to be a tired team, not an excuse, but reality. This team has exceeded expectations so far. If they continue to play with the same energy and effort, this team absolutely can, at least, be an NIT team.

So being 2-3 (chaminade doesn't count) is exceeding your expectations. Wow, when did we become Vanderbilt.

Guess you weren't one of the posters who had us losing to Duke and Memphis by 30 points. Actually, we are 3-3 as all games count. I absolutely believe this team has exceeded expectations so far and will continue to exceed expectations going into this season. If this team is the 11th place team in the SEC, the SEC is much, much better this year.

Yeah, I watched both the Memphis and Duke game. We lost both but we were kinda close I guess. If close losses please you than go ahead and accept mediocrity.

we weren't going to be world beaters this year no matter what. If you watched those games and all you could take away was that we lost then I'm not sure what to tell you.

Actually, you are wrong. Chaminade does not count to the NCAA tournament committee because they were division 2. If you want to get excited because a team that is 2-3 is not getting blown out as bad as people thought than be my guest. I thought we wanted to win at Tennessee.

We lost. This is Tennessee. We should NEVER accept moral victories.

good grief it's not a "moral victory" people are talking about. There were some real positives we could take even from those losses. But keep only looking at the w-l and final score

nevermind apparently you'll never get it

I will since w/l are what counts towards the tourney. You go ahead and search for silver linings. BTW, Dooley had some great close losses his first year too. Now, we are losing to Kentucky.

if you started out this basketball season fully expecting UT to be an NCAA tourney team then I can see why you are posting these things. Most people knew better

Thats where you are wrong. I knew we would be bad and we are. I said that before the season. No Bruce = no wins.

ah a Univ of Bruce guy. We've won before Bruce and will win after him. I've seen more positive improvement with this team than in his last year. Of course there are still some lingering effects that will take a while to get rid of

We won before? When? 1977? Or are you counting 1967 when we last won an outright SEC title before Bruce. Or are you counting the Jerry Green years where he squandered Kevin O'Neil players and wet the bed in the tourney. Where is this great UT basketball success you are talking about?
