Culinary, Arts, Thread.

If you put a little olive oil in the fridge, in about 12 hours it will solidify if it's real. Only problem is some other oils will also. But, if it doesn't then it's not real olive oil.

I put olive oil in my ginger tea and every morning I have little olive oil chips floating on the top. Although I'm confident it's real that doesn't mean it is. So I used the Carli in it today and we'll see in the morning if I have floaters. I'd feel better if I do, but part of me hopes I don't. That's pretty stupid. Lol.

I have found that most restaurants that serve the round ones homemade them straight from the frozen food section of the local grocers. The "Cat turd" ones are made on premise. I have become a hush puppy snob!
How do they create and then maintain that shape in a deep fryer? When you drop batter into hot fat, it seems like it would break apart too easily if it weren’t round-ish. Is this just some sort of statement that they were made in-house?

—I have a specific way of eating ROUND hush puppies for the last 60+ years. I would hate to have to start all over on this. 😢

They use the same machine that makes them homemade crinkle fries, just a different attachment.

Ore Ida use to sell one that shape in a bag. Can't find them any longer. Imo, the cat turds were better than the rounds due to texture and substance. The round ones always seem over done and crusty all the way through. JMO I'm prolly about to be prover wrong. :D

It will not mean much to most, but this is the real deal Holyfield Sriracha from actual Sri Racha Thailand. My wife loved me enough to overpay and get me a bottle for valentines. I made Pho tonight so she gave it to me early.

Really good better than the US variant but not as spicy. Slightly sweeter, but not sweet. Too damned expensive to warrant regular use.

I like Corky's. Their ribs are awesome.

Now with that said, some of the best bbq comes from an old shack on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere USA. Bleedat!
