Alabama white sauce is basically Ranch, Mayo and vinegar.....for the most part. You can find recipes that talk about brown sugar and other things but a guy that makes his own tells me those are the main ingredients. All the Bama white sauce I have eaten has been white. Not an off color yellow, brown or some other combination.

Edit: Has been rather runny, not a very thick sauce.

"A guy that makes his own"? Lulz. That don't mean it's right. I've never seen any recipe for Alabama White sauce or bbq that used Ranch. Pretty much the standard that I've seen is mayo, mustard, vinegar, brown sugar and horseradish.
 
Alabama bbq sauce is what I assume that is. It would be a good sauce IF....it didn't have Alabama or BBQ in the description or name.
Jim and Nick's have smoked wings with alabama white sauce, and it's cooked onto the wings. Not what I expected, but really good.

Edit: They call it Morgan Co. white sauce.
 
Pretty simple but nothing wrong with the ingredients imo. Just the name. Lulz.
Hubby's company Christmas party is always catered by the church the owner goes to. Always GREAT food, and the first two years I skipped the white sauce. Because of exactly that. I don't like the fact that I like it.

Basic horsey sauce served with prime rib, fried mushrooms and zucchini...sour cream, horseradish and worcestershire. So I can see why you like it.

I believe I might try one or both of these. In smaller amounts.
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon black pepper (coarsely ground, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Optional: 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Optional: 2 teaspoons horseradish
OR
  • 1cup mayo Hellman's
  • ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar
  • Juice of 1 large lemon
  • 2 Tbsp. white balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ tsp. granulated garlic
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 ½ tsp. prepared horseradish
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard powder
  • ¼ tsp. paprika
  • ¼ tsp. ground cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Additional black pepper to taste

Sounds like fancied up Mayo, Ranch and vinegar.
 
Sounds like Tennessee white sauce.
The balsamic vinegar sounds interesting and I'm curious because I don't see it working.

But the other one I want to try with no cayenne but add a little crushed red pepper and fresh jalapeno for heat and color.
