Reallly?? I said it would effect one recruit and that was too many. You however said it would effect none but would effect Lindsey. Does Lindsey not count??

I'm losing a lot of respect for you, I used to think you were a solid poster. I'll try to make this as clear as possible...for over a year (check my post history if you don't believe me) I have said Lindsey was an unlikely get. He has always wanted to go to UNC, and is waiting on an offer from them, or DUKE/UK. If he ever gets an offer from one of those schools (and it's likely he will) he's gone, we have little chance of landing him.

When he announced he was transferring to HP I said that killed Tennessee's chances. Not because of anything to do with landry, but because playing for HP IMO was going to earn him an offer from at least one of those schools. I went on to discuss the Landry situation, I did indeed say it wouldn't help, obviously thats kind of common sense. I have even in the Landry thread said this will hurt recruiting at HP but followed that up by saying we don't really recruit there anyways, so I don't see much of an impact.

You went on to say how this would have a negative effect on recruiting the mid level guys (100-150), but wouldn't effect us with the elite recruits (top 20). Now you're sitting here telling me how it's gonna effect us with an elite recruit moments after we just got a commit from the exact range of guys you said it would negatively impact us with.

I said this wouldn't Hurt us with elite talents and I should have added those that aren't directly connected to Landry. Lindsey is connected and Landry hurts us with him just as you posted weeks ago.

No...you bumped a post from April 26th where I said Lindsey is transferring to HP, that killed our chances. You took that as me saying it was because of Landry, yet on April 26th the Landry news wasn't even out there. My post was in reference to what I've been saying, he's going there to try and earn better offers because he wants to go to UNC.

So, when you decide you wanna man up and apologize for trying to call me out on something you were dead wrong about we can move on to your next issue.

Yes I do, but you're jumping into a conversation you hadn't been a part of. Read back a year and a half and maybe you'd understand. I've been saying for over a year that he was wanting those offers...him going to HP was icing on the cake.

Since you're not gonna man up, I'll just ignore it and move on...yes I said that about jalen and HP. I also said in the Landry thread which you've conveniently left out, that I said the ONLY impact this would have is with our recruiting of HP. So now you're going bananas about a HP recruit and how I said it'd effect us, yet I have been saying for days that YES this would have an effect at HP, but little to no effect elsewhere.

Of course you went on to say how it won't matter with elite recruits, yet now you're arguing it matters with Lindsey, an elite recruit...but I'm the hypocritical one, gotcha.

If I played at HP, I wouldn't want to play for a coach that thinks our 2pts 2 assists a game back up point guard is an SEC player.

Your initial post said that I claimed "the Landry situation cost us a chance with Lindsey". That's what I took exception to. We had little chance with Lindsey regardless of the Landry situation, I don't understand why you don't get that. Landry didn't cost us a chance with Lindsey, it didn't help, but it isn't the main factor like you tried to imply I said.

Elite talents not connected to Landry won't be effected in anyway.


Marginal talents that are 50/50 in recruiting might be swayed away from tenn with negative recruiting regarding Martin and his scholarship practices.

Losing one recruit is one too many.


That sums up my opinion on martins scholarship practices.

I don't think Landry hurts is dramatically because I don't think we had much of a shot to begin with. If UNC/DUKE/UK don't offer then it will be interesting.

I agree on your 2nd part

Your third and fourth I disagree with, but doubt I'll change your opinion. If one player in the 100-150 range doesn't like martins scholarship practices I don't see that as having a big impact. Look at the 2014 class...we will likely take 4 or 5. We already have one top 150, we need 3 or 4, and theres about 140 of them to choose from. If it becomes an issue where 1/2 those kids dislike Martin for it then I agree it's an issue, but if one or two kids don't like it whatever, don't recruit them.
