Current class rank

This so far is as good as the 2014 class., easily.... in my honest opinion.

In terms, of where our team is (proven playmakers, veterans) and what it's missing. We are hitting home runs EVERYWHERE!
Our Oline is experienced but not deep our greatly talented.
- we sign 4 guys that can contribute immediately and 1 is almost a lock to start. Not to mention Wright...
at RB we have one guy that is truly dangerous and another who is "good" (Jordan).
- we get Gray who is as good at making people miss than anyone we've recruited. Look for Beasley here too eventually. (Power)
Pass rush needs some spark and depth.
- Harrison and Crouch are both low center of gravity super athletic powerful men who are already college strong! By the way, watch Harrison against Buford, GA in his Hudl account. That is a line with 3 SEC lineman and Harrison wreaks havoc against it!
We just signed Terrell Suggs and Von Miller haha. Okay....im exaggerating, but my point is, we just improved tremendously signing these two.

And probably the most important recruit; Brain Maurer. Turn on his tape. his arm is Okay, but his feet quick and field awareness are what gets me excited!! He controls the defense with his eyes, his feet and his tempo. Callaway, Jennings and Palmer are going to have a good year.

So yeah, we might sneak into the top 10, but already in my eyes this a top 5 class because of what our team needed and the bonus values were adding!
This will be whole different looking team next year! Thank you Darrel Taylor for coming back!
Dude Mauer will be redshirted...

Fulmer had the 3rd best class a year or two before he was fired.

Lane and Dooley both had top ten classes and Dooley had another ranked at 14.

Butch had a class within the top 5 and 1 in the top 10.

In short, Pruitts recruiting thus far is in line with Dooley’ avg.
Yeah but butch had about 30 players half of which left and half the remaining were soft like marshmallow

Is there a really good shot we finish #10 in the nation for this class granted we are sitting around 16 right now?? Things sound promising let’s just hope we get who wants to be at Tennessee next fall!! Keep burning the midnight oil Pruitt and let’s finish strong!!!! GBO!!!

That's flat false. Dooley's classes had average recruit ratings of 88.5 all 3 years. His best was #7 class (with 27 commits!) his lowest was 22nd. Same average, difference was 22 recruits vs 27 commits. No change in same mediocre average talent ratings.

With Wright we will have a 90.3 average, 90.6 adding Solomon. 2 points higher than Dooley. For context, if you went 2 points down from Dooley (88.5 to 86.5), you are in UK territory. 2 pts is a biig difference. Highest since Fulmer days. Add Pickens or 1 more surprise and we will hit a 91 average, up there with every big boy outside of Bama, UGA.
Exactly....some people have no clue how the recruiting ranking process works. Dooley also didn't recruit any OL his last year, so there's that....

13th currently. Wright would land us 10th-12th most years. Either way, actually a higher point value than 2014's #7 class. Rankings can be tricky sometimes.

If we can crack the top ten this year, that would be a major move of progress IMO.

Don't get too caught up in the rankings. Total point value, average recruit rating, and margin beteeen us and the rest of the sec are important.

To me, it's good to be getting higher quality players than since Fulmer, while building a gap vs uf and usc and slightly closing gap on Bama. UGA gap widening though.

He absolutely will not....

I would hope so! If JG goes down, really hope we play Shrout, he's already redshirted. Maurer needs a year to adjust. He was a turnover machine until his sr year and the speed change likely returns him to one without time to adjust. Let him play 4 and rs.

Bama and Georgia weren’t getting 5, 5*’s and 15, 4*s when Dooley was around. Now they mop up all DT’s and whatever else they want

Play the best guy! Period!
Trevor Lawrence, Jake Fromm, Tua- Hurts etc...have come in as true freshman and been the man.

Meanwhile, we have a guy going into is 4th year, still only knowing half the game.

Football is a team sport, and a big part of that is the QB. The team plays better when they feel like the QB can keep them in the game or even put the team on his back.

All these people continuing to give JG chance after chance after chance chance, are ignoring how his own teammates view his production.

So if Maurer can come in, show confidence AND football competence from the QB spot, then you absolutely play him! Maurer is MUCH more aware in the pocket. He feels pressure. It's just about learning the offense and then getting a chance to show it!

But this isn't 1985...people need to not be so quick to think True Freshman can't play QB right away...QBs are far more advanced these days.

All that after mentioning the likes of Lawrence, Fromm, Tua. Add Maurer...one is not like the others.

Hope he's a good one, but he wasn't a top recruit, so it would be quite the surprise. Just saying, hope we can redshirt him if he isn't a magician of sorts and nothing so far has shown him to be that. 12 INTs in high school sure doesn't. That would probably be 25 INTs in the sec. He has a loong ways to go. Fans can't go thinking every Freshman is going to be like a few are, they are the exception.

More than the impressive rankings off 2 bad seasons. Was the just sheer common sense approach CJP has taken. Filling gaping hole needs is more important than loads of flashy skill players. The offensive lineman we got is the most exciting thing to me.
