D.J. Swearinger

His reviews are all over the place, great according to ESPN, good according to Rivals, and awful according to Scout. I'd like to see how he turns out.

I'm being serious. I can understand that we can't have all 4 and 5 star prospects, and I know some kids who are rated lower end up being better than some, but if we want to compete with GA and UF we need to get higher rated prospects at the skill positions. I know lineman are hard to evaluate so that doesn't really bother me, but c'mon...we are UT.

Those 4 and 5 stars have really done you well the past couple years havent they?

I wouldn't call Swearinger a solid verbal because hes starting to look our way... He loved the visit this weekend in columbia.

you think everyone is going to USCe, the kid's a Vol fan.

He had a monster game this Friday leading Greenwood to a big region win. If I'm not mistaken he scored the winning td.

Swearinger A USC Visitor Saturday
By Phil Kornblut

DB DJ Swearinger (6-0 200) of Greenwood made an unofficial visit to USC Saturday for the LSU game along with about ten of his teammates. "We just had fun there, it was a good visit," Swearinger said. "I enjoyed the stadium and the fans like I always do. I talked to coach Reaves, coach Spurrier, coach Spurrier Jr., coach Cooper, coach Lawing. They are very interested. I'm still committed to Tennessee but I'm still looking at Carolina." Swearinger said he's made six or seven unofficial visits to USC over the past two seasons for games but this was his first one this season. He plans to set official visits with USC and Tennessee. Swearinger will make an unofficial visit to Tennessee for this weekend's game with Alabama and he plans to return to USC when the Gamecocks play the Vols.

Montgomery is joined by his teammate from Greenwood, athlete D.J. Swearinger, who currently is committed to Tennessee but could be looking to open his recruitment back up. Swearinger sits just outside the ESPNU150.

from ESPN

"I wouldn't consider myself a Tennessee commitment," Swearinger said. "I'm going to do something this week about that."

"My heart just isn't with Tennessee like it was," Swearinger said. "My heart is more with (South) Carolina."

says he is not going to commit yet..wants to wait and see who we hire.

D.J. Swearinger is reported to be "opening" things up, he wanted to see 2 things to reconsider the Vols:
1. winning another game
2. wants to know who the next coach is gonna be

DJ also said he may call Mike Hamilton to find out who the next coach will be, and said he would love to play for Butch Davis.

Let's hope this is all for now. :ermm:

And bring on basketball season!!
