D4H's 2017 College Football Season Preview

I'm pretty sure I was the only person here that had Clemson beating Alabama last year when everyone thought Bama was unbeatable.

My in season predictions the last two years have been money.

Just wait and see Georgia will it all like I predicted.

You predicted Tennessee would destroy Georgia 2 days before.

And congrats on making up "in season predictions".

I'm pretty sure you were all Alabama last year. But digging up old posts isn't my style.

Hopefully someone else can find your posts.

Well he's an Alabama fan, so logic would dictate he probably was partial to Alabama.

And let me get this straight, you're dogging him for being "all Alabama" and acting like you're sticking it to him, but you cry immunity over being "all Tennessee" for 2 years in a row and acting like it wasn't serious; even though he actually had real logic and reasoning as to why Alabama would win it all (you know....becuase they have a lot recently)?

And even if we found all his old posts, why can't he just be like you and totally ignore and explain away?

“My inseason predictions, which I change weekly, and in the end look nothing like what I predicted all season, especially at the beginning of the season, are money”

“I predicted Tennessee to win the national championship last year, but when the others 126 FBS teams were eliminated and it was down to Alabama or Clemson, I picked Clemson. Look how great my prediction was.”

Actually I predicted Clemson over Alabama in December when the final 4 was set. Not at the national title game.

And this year I predicted Georgia would win it all in October.

I'm always gonna be postive about my team.

But I'm more realistic about teams I don't care about. That's how I knew Clemson would win the natty last year once Tennessee was effectively eliminated from the playoffs.

And this year I knew Georgia would win the natty after Tennessee was effectively eliminated.

Just watch as my prediction is right for the second consecutive season.

If you were up front about just being positive and homer about it, you might have an excuse.

However, that's not what you did. Both last year and this year, when anyone tried to disagree with you, with actual logic and reasoning and not just nega-Vol stuff, you adamently argued against them. You even went out of your way to stress you were NOT just being a homer and how right you were and how everyone would see how smart you were when we were 'hoisting the national championship trophy in January".

So I hate to break it to you, but you can't make predictions and stress how serious you are, and then after they fall apart then claim you were just being a homer and positive to your team. That's not how it works. And that's why people make fun of you and laugh at you acting like you have any idea of what the hell you're talking about.

Unless of course you're just a troll.....which is most likely but hey it's fun to keep watching how hard you try to troll.

So you picked the two favorites, and then picked one game correctly. Impressive.

The overwhelming majority of people were picking Alabama to win it all. I would say picking Clemson was kinda bold even if it was down to two teams. Similar to how picking Texas over USC in 2006 was bold eventhough it was down to two teams because of the hype the favorite was getting.

People were saying Alabama's defense was maybe the best ever.

Was that the same Clemson that you said was very overrated with a very overrated QB that would struggle to even win the ACC? That Clemson?

Lol, he is bragging for picking the winner of the game between the best 2 teams in the country; and two teams that went to the wire the year before in the NC games.

There is nothing bold about that at all.

They’ve said it’s the best defense ever about at least 3 or 4 different bama teams since saban has been there

Who are these "people"?

I'm beginning to doubt if you even follow this team. The entire media was saying this about that garbage Alabama team last year. Maybe you forgot about it after the loss to Clemson. But the rest of us remember the insufferable coverage all year about how invisible Alabama is and how their defense is the best ever. That was the narrative all last year until Clemson beat em.

Just cause you're the tallest midget doesn't mean you're tall.

A properly coached and healthy 2016 Tennessee would have destroyed 2016 Clemson. That was not a very talented football team.

Then it really shouldn't be hard to provide a few links. I mean, if "the entire media was saying this," then the first 2 or 3 links on a google search should take you about 20 seconds to copy and paste.

It's times like this when I hope you're trolling. Otherwise there is a mom somewhere who needs to limit her retarded kid's internet usage.

Yeah and if the Browns didn't suck they'd win the Super Bowl.

I'll take "Ridiculous Statements for $400 Alex".

So did you think I was trolling last year when I said Alvin Kamara was a better NFL prospect than Fournette, Cook, and McCaffrey and that he would a Marshall Faulk type player at the next level and a future Hall of Famer?

All I do is say what I believe. And I'm telling you that a competent coach would have gone 15-0 with a healthy 2016 Tennessee roster.

My validation of this argument will come from the NFL success the players on that team will enjoy. Kamara is only the start. There are several more NFL superstars from that team. And many long time NFL starters.

Wait.

Just a few posts back you said that your Tennessee predictions are just fanboy hopes and dreams. Now they're "what (you) believe?" Pick a lane, Skippy.

Keep ignoring the rest of my posts that clearly explain my point.

I made it clear that the NFL success of players on the 2016 Vols will prove my point over time.

Just as Alvin Kamara has everyone in the NFL bewildered as to why he didn't get more touches at Tennessee, people will be mind blown 2-3 years from now as to how the 2016 Vols were only able to win 9 games with guys like Josh Dobbs, Alvin Kamara, Cam Sutton, Darrin Kirkland Jr., Daniel Bituli, and Nigel Warrior being among the best in the NFL at positions.

No team in recent college football history will have as many NFL superstars as the 2016 Vols. Alvin is only the start.

Did you just seriously post Rolling Stone magazine as a source for sports? ROFL.

Also I'm not sure if you can read or not, but the second link doesn't say they are the best, they say they need to stop Watson if they WANT to be called that.

I would suggest reading more than just the article. Here is what the first paragraph in the second link says:

During the last couple of months, we've heard about how good, how special and how historic Alabama's defense has been this season. And the numbers don't lie. It's hard not to place this defense among the greatest in both Alabama history and college football history -- period.

Obviously the writer in the title is responding to the hype Alabama was getting all season from the rest of the media. He's saying for Alabama to get that title of best defense ever that the rest of the media has already given them, they must stop Watson.

Reading is fundamental.

You know what's funny? Sometimes when you read past the headline, it turns out that the body of the piece is where the actual point gets made.

The Rolling Stone piece says nothing about Bama's defense being the best of all-time. The entire story makes the case that a 15-0 Bama team that beat the 2016 schedule by the point margins that they did would be in the discussion for greatest team of all-time.

The ESPN piece says little beyond "Bama's defense might be among the greatest in history." But it's dedicated to discussing the upcoming CFPNCG, and doesn't actually make any comparisons to any past squads.

Try reading, doofus.
