D4H's 2017 NBA Draft Preview

Lebron has like 5 of the greatest finals performances ever. I am not focusing on 1 finals. I've mentioned various times that he was bad in two whole playoff runs to the finals. Furthermore:

He was useless against Indiana - 15.6 ppg, eFG% of .377

He struggled against Philly - 22.6 ppg, eFG% of .429

He was great against NJ - 24.6 ppg, eFG% of .557

He was OK against Boston - 25.6 ppg, eFG% of .439

He was great against Orlando - 32.4 ppg, eFG% of .463, 7.4 apg, 3.2 topg

He was good against Boston - 28.6 ppg, eFG% of .450, 3.8 apg, 3.8 topg

He's really not that clutch. That's only 2 great series in 7 tries.

LeBron plays for stats. Kobe plays to win.

Gimme 5-2 over 3-5 anyday.

Prince primarily guarded him. His wingspan really bothered Kobe and this was right before the hand check rules so they roughed him up. They also singled Shaq all series which was rare so they could not swing the ball to Kobe when scrambling back. Also I remember Brown said in a interview they would play a zone when Kobe had the ball and let Kobe play one on one. Detroit had such good individual defenders they didnt have to focus on rotating as much and can stay at home.

Phil also said Kobe completely abandoned the triangle and played iso ball the entire series which played right in Detroit's hands.

Thank you good sir.

Now this guy actually knows what he's talking about. This is exactly what happened. Kobe basically screwed himself and the team by trying to play iso ball against a defense designed to stop him and leave Shaq one on one.

His horrible performance was not the result of his talent but his ego. Kobe was willing to lose with him shooting than to pass to a single covered Shaq and possibly win.

You should probably read his post 3 or 4 more times, it's not matching the double and triple team that you claimed.

Did you even watch that series or are you a kid?

I actually watched it. Pistons were doubling Kobe and closing out all driving lanes to him. Basically forcing him to play through Shaq. This was the height of the Kobe/Shaq beef. I think Kobe just went into with the mindset we're either gonna win this through my hand or we're gonna lose. Obviously they lost.

So you can remember specific plays. But can't remember things about when you went to Duke. Hmmm

They had 3 point shooting. He's an idiot if he didn't pass out of triple teams. I'm 35 and i watched, i just don't remember why he was so terrible. It's been 13 years

Kobe's finals resume has warts. Only Jordan is a pristine 6-0. But Kobe is nonetheless 5-2.

I think the problem with LeBron fans is they're always trying to make excuses for him rather than just pointing out his flaws. I'm a Kobe fan but I know his ego and selfishness cost the Lakers the series against the Pistons. Sometimes you just gotta take the bad with the good with players like Kobe.

Lebron was bad against Dallas. I have no problem pointing out this flaw. I don't remember how well he played in his first finals for Cleveland. He's been great in the other 6 finals. You can't ask more from a player, that's how well he played.

How does one play for stats but not to win exactly?

Rhymes with World B Free. Will also accept Zach Randolph. If you pile up individual records and leave championships on the table, there's an element of failure. Lebron has both and nothing to be ashamed of, but when you're comparing two all time greats, give me the one that delivers more. Why Bill Russell will always be more revered than Wilt Chamberlain.

Jordan played better. Has the record to show for it.

Jordan was incredible in the finals. It's not just about wins and losses....he actually played amazing, unlike Kobe. However, he faced terrible D....Hornacek, Russell, Majerle, Drexler, Payton, Hawkins, Scott...that's 1 good defender, 1 great undersized defender, then average at best defenders and you couldn't double away from the ball back then....i would hope Jordan lit it up.

Michael Jordan hit every big shot he ever took, he never had any teammates that were any good, he always played the game perfectly. He also gave the best HOF induction speech ever. He is not at all a vindictive, arrogant prick.

He did. No matter who he faced. Who was the great defender for the Mavericks?

Spiteful petty man who staked his claim as GOAT by being a deadly force of nature in the Finals. Rest of your post was too silly to respond to.

No it's not. Sorry I don't bow down to MJ. I'm not denying his greatness, but I don't think he was this flawless player who didn't have a great supporting cast. I sure as hell don't think he's a good person who should get a pass because he was a great basketball player.

Damn, beat me to it.

Agreed. If there was social media and better internet access when he played he wouldn't be held in such high regard.

What? Pippen was really good, Rodman was great, Ho Grant was a good player.
