No it's not. Sorry I don't bow down to MJ. I'm not denying his greatness, but I don't think he was this flawless player who didn't have a great supporting cast. I sure as hell don't think he's a good person who should get a pass because he was a great basketball player.
I didn't like him...I was a Knicks fan. Hated the bandwagon that praised him and the Bulls incessantly. Hated Bird and the Celtics. Hated Bill Walsh, Joe Montana and the Niners. As one gets older and reviews, one recognizes greatness they once resented. Most who are honest know that Pippen was a great complementary player and a huge reason Jordan was able to win titles. No one wins a title (much less 6) 100% by themself, but Pippen couldn't be the front man of a championship team. The rest of the Bulls fit because Jordan upped their games. Which Lebron does to a lesser extent. Big difference: Jordan never deferred or disappeared when that game needed to be won. This isn't a citizenship argument...Jordan doesn't even place in that competition.
Don't forget that Horace Grant was a great player and that Dennis Rodman is in the hall of fame. Jordan doesn't get credit for their greatness.
Jordan is a different player than Lebron. Jordan was the best 1 on 1 scorer in the league. Lebron is very good at this, but so is Wade and so is Kyrie. MJ didn't have anybody to defer to because he had no equal in this regard. This is not a knock on Lebron, it's a demonstration of his basketball IQ. If Lebron has Durant on him and Irving has Curry on him, who should get the ball?
Either way, this trope is played out. When was the last time Lebron disappeared when a game needed to be won? 2010?
Horace Grant was a very good player and Rodman a legendary rebounder and defender. Both PIECES of a championship team, not deliverers of said championships. Lebron has delivered clutch moments SINCE 2010 and also been nonexistent in clutch time during winnable games...as recently as this past Finals. Can't be even inferred about Jordan in any game of any Finals.

John Paxson and Steve Kerr beg to differ. I really wanted game 7 in Phoenix. I loved that team.
The biggest difference between Lebron, MJ, and Kobe is that only one of them has a chance to improve their resume.
He's already 3-5 in the finals man. That really really bad. I believe 5 finals losses in the most all-time for a former MVP. That's a very dubios record. And its unlikely to get any better considering how loaded Golden State is moving forward.
LeBron's career will look a lot like Wilt Chamberlain when it's done. Great individual stats. But a poor record in terms of championships (Wilt was 2-4 in the finals). Definitely top 10 all-time but lower than the guy who were greater champions.

Jordan came in with fresh legs in 1995 and they didn't even make the ECF. They added Rodman and won 72 games and blew through the playoffs. He straight up shut down the MVP in two straight finals. If Malone hits his averages, the Jazz win.
Rodman also won 2 titles with less around him. He was the best player on the Pistons, IMO.
He did deliver...5 championships.
Robert Horry = GOAT then
With the exception of Bill Russell, every star player ended the majority of their seasons without a title. Losing in the finals is not worse than losing earlier in the playoffs. Stop trumpeting such nonsense.
You must have never played sports in your life. While logically this sounds good, it's just not realistic. There's nothing worse than losing a championship. There's nothing worse than being so close to your goals only to have it ripped away from you.
Losing in the NBA Finals or losing a Superbowl is 10x worse than losing earlier in the playoffs or not even making the playoffs at all.
