D4H's 2017 NBA Draft Preview

No, what I was implying was that in late game situations when they know they are going to be intentionally fouled, they give the ball to Kyrie. The greatest players in the league dont give the ball up in those situations. They demand it.

This argument is so narrow it's to the point of ridiculousness.

Im not going to get jnto this arguement that LeBron is better than Kobe, because he's clearly not. Look at the rings.

Kobe won 3 rings as a sidekick. He was terrible in two of those playoff runs. Look at who Lebron faced in the finals and look at who Kobe faced....Nets, Pacers, 76ers? Those teams probably wouldn't finish top 4 in the west right now.

You will have to search high and low to find any non-Laker fan who will say Kobe is better than Lebron. There is a reason there is a Lebron vs MJ debate and not a Kobe vs MJ debate.

Not completely true. Lebron doesn't demand the ball, true, but it's not designed to not let him have it either. He sees the double and triple team and passes. Rings aren't everything either. Shaq says hi to Kobe's rings fwiw.

Shaq wouldn't have those rings either without kobe. LeBron is a better overall player but if I'm picking 1 to lead me through the playoffs I'll take kobe every time. LeBrons flaw has always been his lack of a killer instinct

They could have put any good 2 guard on that team and won 3 titles. Maybe 4. Kobe was all time bad against the Pistons.

Shaq still wouldn't have the rings without Kobe. And vice versa

That the same Kobe that quit on the Lakers in the playoffs when Karl Malone and Gary Payton sacrificed to be there to win a championship? This the same Kobe that personally blew the Lakers up, that Kobe? I remember the Zen Master wrote down a few things in a book concerning that Kobe.

Again, Kobe was bad in 3 finals runs You can't replace Shaq with anybody and win a title. There are probably 10 guys you could have replaced Kobe with and won.

The whole team was built around Shaq. They had 3 point shooters for days to capitalize on double teams in the post.

So Robert Horry is better than Kobe? Look at the rings.

Because he played for 2 dynastys at their peak as a role player. The Lakers organization was a dumpster fire at the end of Kobe's career. Not his fault they werent contending. If Kobe would have went to a different team to chase more rings he would have 9 or 10. He was loyal to LA. Something LeBron wouldnt know anything about.

By loyal you mean demanding a trade. By loyal you mean accepting a large contract at the end of his career.

I love this argument. It's essentially saying it's more respectable to be knocked out in the conference finals then in the championship series.

The greats refuse to lose and have killer instinct when they are only 4 wins away from a championship. The greatest basketball player of all time would never get swept in the finals.

What about getting blown out by 39 in a Finals elimination game?

Switch out Kobe with Tracy McGrady or Ray Allen and the Lakers win Five or six titles with Shaq.

That's beyond stupid. By that logic the greatest of all time should never lose an opening round playoff series. Or he'll lose period. It takes zero account for who they are playing against. The Mavs vs Heat series Lebron should have won. Outside of that series he has been on the worse team. That includes the team he was on that beat the all time winningest team one year ago.

So would be had been better off losing in the first round like Jordan a few times.

11 full seasons of Jordan in his prime. 6-0 in Finals. ONE lost first round and that in his rookie season. Second season he played 18 games in the regular season.

But lost in 6 games! None of Jordan's Finals champions went PAST 6 games.

So that means 5 other full seasons in his prime, his teams didn't make the finals.

We can have this debate all night but i doubt its going to change any minds. My thing with LeBron is I don't think he takes advantage of his talent. The LeBron you see when he is down 3 games to anything isnt the LeBron you see at any other point in the season. He doesnt have it in him to be that same LeBron in game 1 so they dont end up behind. His game 1 playoff record isnt good. I also think if he shot enough Free Throws he could improve his %. He just doesnt practice it enough. Same thing with his post game. He should be dominate on the block but hes not. That something Kobe profected later in his career.
