Da Reds thread

Remember the weather is still cold and pitchers will not come into their own until warmer weather. Arroyo is nothing better than a third starter but that is an ace on the Reds pitching staff.

Adam Dunn hit the ball literally out of the park last night. It bounced onto the road that runs by the Ohio River and a guy picked it up off the road and drove away.

ADAM DUNN!

Can't say I keep up with the Reds these days but when I was a kid and the Nashville Sounds were the Reds AAA affiliate it seemed like everyone in Nashville was on the Bid Red machine bandwagon. Carl Lowenstein lived about six houses down from my family. He was a scout for the Reds then and his son Clint used to give the rest of us kids free Reds baseball cards and other promotional stuff. Good times.

In case you did not read how far Dunn hit his home run, it traveled an estimated 479 feet.

I am now convinced the apocalypse is upon us, Kent Mercker got a save.

Kent Mercker? What year is this 1995?? Just goes to show that if you're lefthanded and can throw strikes, you can stick around forever.

Kent Mercker and Chris Hammond!

I can remember going to a Reds game in 1991 and Chris Hammond hitting a home run.

Hey, the Reds team E.R.A for the year is approaching 9!

 :birgits_giggle:

Nobody is pitching well right now. It's almost epidemic.

I heard on ESPN last night that in the 1st week of the season, HRs were actually up about 20%. So much for the roids.
