Da Reds thread

I get that Bell is a 1st year manager and learning but sometimes I think he is overthinking/over managing the games. Like pulling Hughes in favor of Duke, Hughes proved last year he can be a dependable bull pen arm.

Yep - he's reinventing the wheel so far this season. He said Iggy would be used in different situations, would not always be the closer. So he's been the closer each time. Not a Duke fan at all - Wandy is better.. He needs to use Hernandez and Garrett as the closers until Iggy gets his act together. Use Lorenzen, Hughes and Iggy for the rest.

Dietrich crushes a 2 run homer but watched it too long and probably going to get drilled next time up.

So I'm not that smart but does anyone else want to see Dietrich starting at 2B until Scooter gets back and shift Peraza back to SS and have Iglesias coming off the bench?

Yep, Pittsburgh throws at Dietrich and the benches clear. Maybe a bench clearing brawl gets this team going. Hope Disco throws at Pittsburgh next inning.

Well - at least the ruckus helps us know they have a pulse. I was beginning to wonder. Still don't have any pride though.

I think we may have found a team worse than the Reds, the Marlins. We're up 11-0 with 3 consecutive homers in the 6th. Castillo is dealing too: 7 IP - 2 H - 0 R - 1 BB - 8 Ks.

I really don't want to start proclaiming him a beast but Castillo's early season is off to an amazing start: 19.2 IP (gone 7 innings last two starts), 5 H, 2 ER, 8 BBs, and 25 SOs with an .92 ERA.

Luis is the real deal. We will see a much more consistent performance this season if he stays healthy because of Derek Johnson. Has learned how to really pitch instead of throw.

Reds win thanks to two late solo homers from Iglesias and Winker in the 8th, Iglesias was amazing on defense tonight. After a rough start Mahle settled down and Raisel picks up his first save of the year.

So a guy who was pretty good in 2017 and really good the 2H of 2018 is good because of a pitching coach he met three months ago? Go on..

Just got back from the Lookout game. I thought Santillian looked ok but not overly impressive, the bullpen did well. Trammell walked in a run which followed a Isabel grand slam. I have tickets for the Saturday and Sunday games but not sure the weather is going to cooperate.

They beat the Cards in the opener down in Mexico. Other than Duke, solid pitching again even if Iggy made it interesting in the 9th. Dietrich has been a fantastic signing. HR and triple with 3 RBI's. Schebler stopped swinging for the fences long enough to dink a single for a key insurance RBI. Winker with a key HR to get the fun started.

Duke is awful.

4 in a row.

Disco is just not a good pitcher and has proven not to be durable. He throws. He doesn't change speeds enough. His breaking ball is too tight. I would throw him into a trade deal.
