Next year roster sizes will go from 25 to 26 active players but the September call-ups will be limited to 28 from 40. I like the move but we all know every team is going to carry another pitcher instead of a position player.

There’s going to be a 13 pitcher max

Nick Senzel starts in Louisville. Tyler Mahle would be the 1st pitcher I'd call up when we need our fresh arm and if any of our starting rotation guys can't go to start the season he'd get the nod if I were running the show.

I had some hope that Finnegan would turn into a decent MLBer but that doesn't look like its happening. At this point I'd rather just DFA him to open a spot on the 40 man roster.

Reds announce Castillo as the Opening Day starter followed by Gray, Roark, and DeSclafani. 5th guy in the rotation hasn't been announced.

#reds latest round of cuts was a big one. Senzel, Ervin, Romano, Reed, Krol, Trahan, Farmer, Graterol.

Senzel is a victim of the arb clock. Will be back up sometime in April. All the rest were expected. Romano had a shot, but didn't perform well. Probably will be back up for long relief when there's an injury or somebody else blows their shot.

I'm okay with it honestly. For a small market franchise like ours we need that extra time of control really. Schebler can handle the center field duties for the first 13 games or so before we call him up. The biggest worry is the health of Gennett right now.

Gennett is out 8-12 weeks. Plan is to move Peraza to 2B and start Iglesias as shortstop. Kyle Farmer will be on the big league roster. Senzel still going to Louisville and will be playing CF even with the Scooter injury.

That makes sense. Get him some more CF experience before the call up. Iglesias and Peraza can handle it until then. They will then be able to rotate Senzel in CF and 2B. Kind of hurts the possibility of a good trade deadline deal for Scooter though.

Just put the finishing touches on my baseball season: will be seeing the Lookouts April 12th-14th & June 1st here in Jackson. Hoping maybe by the June 1st game that Hunter Greene might be in Chattanooga by then.

Really can't wait for Opening Day.

Robert Stephenson and Wandy Peralta make the 25, Wisler didn't and is being placed on waivers. Personally I think I would have kept Wisler over Stephenson. So this should be the opening day roster:
