Da Reds thread

Need to get to the break 5 or less back. Get Moose, Senzel, Sims and Lorenzen back for the second half. Time to make a deal or two to get better. Still need Suarez to get on the right side of the Mendoza line.

Padres and Dodgers look solid to me, but who knows with the later with the Bauer thing. Giants are like the Brewers and playing over their heads IMO. Will see, but I'm think both of them may fade back to the pack.
I know what happened tonight. Look, even though that didn’t look good, you have to look on the bright side for just a minute. You are still right there where you want to be. Forget about this game, and move on to the next. The Brewers have a double header tomorrow, and they could lose both games. I do agree that if you get these guys like Moose, Senzel and the other ones back y’all will be fine. I do agree that someone will fall in the west. We just took two out of three from the giants, and I just don’t know how we did that. 😳 It is unbelievable. Hang in there, y’all will be fine.

Ugly loss. Don't know if the culprit was bad defense or bad relief pitching, but both are weak spots for this team and it cost them tonight

Agree. Total pen meltdown after what they did against the Cubs and the first KC game. You should not lose a game you are leading 6-3 going into the 9th. Suarez with 15 errors on the season already and still below the Mendoza. AA playing too often and at the Mendoza. Shogo nearing the Mendoza. Garrett and Hembree closing out any game has turned into a nightmare. It's nearing time for the wannabes and has beens to be moved for a ham sammitch.

Well! Brewers went down in the first one. Here we go!

Krall said they will be looking for help. Sounds like they will be willing to spend a bit off money to make a run and not be sellers. That's encouraging. Lorenzen due back after the break, he's in Louisville on rehab. Antone and Sims will be back in late July if all goes well.

Just keep winning, especially this series with the Brew Crew.

So they split the double header, but y’all are right there where you need to be. I thought that the excitement would be there for y’all, and now you turn your attention to the Brewers. Hang in there, and y’all can do it. I have a feeling help is coming y’all’s way on the 31st.

T-2nd for most comeback wins this season with 24. That's a good indicator of team attitude and chemistry.

Hell of an outing by Miley tonight going 8 scoreless innings and got the ball for the 9th but gave up a lead-off double.

They needed that since the bats have been a little cold lately. Glad they have that team option on him for next season. Didn't get anything out of him last season, but this season he has been outstanding. Sub 3 ERA and going to log in close to 200 IP if he stays on the same pace. Add in a .214 BA at the moment. Great value and teammate.

Good game. Y’all should’ve won the last one. I know y’all had bases loaded 2 or 3 times and couldn’t get those runs across either. There were some questionable calls by the ump to. It’s been like that all season long with the strike zone. Glad that y’all were able to put that 1st game behind y’all and forgot about it. Your pitcher shut them down. Good job. Now, just come out today playing well, and you never know what will happen . You’re sitting where you need to be.

Votto should have just walked back to the bench and then let the ump have it. He was right, it was not even close to a swing for a strike. Checked way short of crossing home plate and the pitch was out of the zone. At least the game is nearly over.

This team doesn't quit man. They tie it up late and we come back and win. Time to go for the series win tomorrow boys!

I agree. In past years when the pen would blow it like Brach did tonight, it was over. Not with this team. They find ways and that is a great sign. Hoping Suarez busts out of it and tears it up in the second half.

Would love to take the series tomorrow and finish the first half on a high note 4 games back and only 3 in the loss column.

This could be a heckuva a season if things fall right with the injured guys coming back strong as long as the pitching holds up.

Looking forward to the draft tomorrow night. 3 picks in the first 35. That will help the talent pool a bunch.

Congratulations! Once again, y’all are right there where you need to be. Y’all are in great shape. Y’all can get this one tomorrow and then it will be an all-star happy flight home.

Win or lose tomorrow, we're in it and got a chance. Tonight was one we were not supposed to win based on the starters. Beating Hader was big

We did it guys, took 3 games from the Brewers and almost had a sweep! Also just give Nick Castellanos the MVP and all the money now dude just has "it".
@Vols4us and @Burhead congratulations. How big was that for y’all? The central is closing the gap, and now everyone/every team goes home and relaxes. Y’all can relax and focus on the next series wit the Brewers. Y’all are right there on their heels, and now they know it.

Pay the man. Nick C: "Everybody on this team likes each other and everybody on this team likes to win." Wish I could have recorded all of his interview with Day. Loves his teammates, says they are just now really getting to know one another. Looking forward to his first All Star game. You can tell he senses something special is going on. IMO, he's not going anywhere if they can work a good deal out.

What I am loving is the pitching. Castillo is back. The pen throwing up goose eggs. Osich with his first career save in 240+ appearances. Winning games 3-2 and 2-1 is big time important.

Pumped.

Huge IMO. I think I said on here that if we lost this series we should sell but now that we've won I'm all for being buyers at the deadline and going all in.

Thanks, OD. I figured the Brewers would fade in the second half. They are dead last in the NL in BA, #9 in OBP and middle of the pack at #7 in Runs. You can't keep up the pace of scoring enough when you have a poor BA and OBP. Normal RISP averages kick in over the course of an entire season. That puts too much pressure on the pitching staff, which wears them down. You understand that with your Cards.

Too early to call in the west on who fades. All three are close together statistically. Doubt it will be the Dodgers.

The interview with Nick C was priceless. For those who didn't see it Jim Day asked him about the big at bat and he said " I was the right man in the right spot, but it started even before that when some clown here on TV was talking s##t about our bullpen - and Karma is real in this game - so whoever that was this is a good lesson."
