Da Reds thread

I hate Weaver with a passion.

That they keep trotting him out there is a travesty.

Tough patch of games. Nick needs to pull the trigger on another SP and jettison Weaver.

This bunch is talented, but not yet ready to make a run it appears. Still encouraged about the future.

Back to back to back HRs for a team that usually doesn't rely only on the long ball. Man, they are so fun to watch, even with De La Cruz sitting out for 7 inmings. I love Hunter Greene, have him on my fantasy team. Greene has the size, the stuff, just needs to master his craft, maybe Abbott will rub off on him. How long until he is back ?

Oops, my bad saw the highlights, didn't realize one of them HRs came in another inning.

Damn, I'm high, it was back to back to back

I think I will pass on following the game today. Weaver and his 7.22 ERA trots out there. The only good thing is Ruiz is their SP with his 5.48 ERA as the opponent. Let's get lucky.

good to get the sweep
need another'n startin tomorrow at Milwaukee
Stoudt and Sims managed to make it interesting in the T9 but got the DP with bases loaded
other relief was really good today

tl;dr
my memories of the Reds started in 72
I never was a fan of another team, had aunt and uncle in Cleveland and liked the Tribe okay
first game I attended was in 75, and Bench hit a HR against the Astros (Cruz, Cedeno, that bunch) in the 12th to win it
went to several games over the years
90 was great
was able to attend a NLCS game in 95 in Cincy, but they lost to the Braves: great atmosphere
never been to GAB
great to be winning some games again
Edit: miss Marty and Joe a lot

First Major League game I ever saw was in '80. Reds and Giants in a doubleheader. Giants won the first game, Reds the second game, thanks to a Bench homer, coincidence, I think not. My Alice Bell youth team went, we were the Reds, so we all wore our uniforms. Great memory, I haven't thought about it, in a long time

My dad was a Reds fan so I became one thanks to him since we don’t have a team here in TN. He passed away in February 2022 I really wish he could be here to see the young group of guys that we’ve assembled.
