Da'Rick Rogers invited to UT's pro day??

For the record...I'm around 400 high schoolers a day as a teacher and a coach. I promise you I don't live in a fairy tale world. I assure you I have a much better guage of today's athelete and what they deal with than you "sir". But that's ok...you can believe what you want believe. Some of are just a little more in tune than others.

I figured a teacher could at least have decent sentence structure. Let me guess, PE?

I wasn't judging your GAUGE of how student athletes handle themselves based on your career, because I couldn't care less what you do, but solely off of your reaction to this situation and the things you have said. Being an educator doesn't make you any less of an idiot, in my opinion. That is like saying being a politician makes you respectable.

what position did you play on scholarship?

I played the position of daughter on Mom and Dad Scholarship. And, trust me, it was waaaay more painful to pay that back. And. I . Did. Every. Penny. Have you never "effed" up before? Have you never needed a second chance? If not, that is fine. I applaud you for being good and perfect...truly. But, use your experience of being a fine person to help others...not to ridicule them. My post had a point and it was that I am an example of how a silly kid can blossom into a good adult...GBO!

Just curious.....but have you ever played a "down" of football past the 7th grade? Seriously...be honest.

TylerD...I simply question your knowledge concerning the amount of help, attention, and guidance players are given simply to keep them on track and eligible academically and in good standing with their team. I promise you the average fan has NO IDEA!!! Think about it...the coaches need these kids to be successful.... so they are NOT going to show a kid the door unless they have run out of options. That's the way it is. We who "are" in the coaching profession (any sport) get so frustrated when great atheletes, who have "every" resource available to be successful simply choose to p...it all away. Why??????.....because some players think they'll ALWAYS be given another chance to do better. Well you know what...at some point you have to cut the cord....and leave it severed. It hurts the team, it hurts the coaches who've dedicated the time, it hurts the fans, and ultimately it hurts the athelete. But you know what...hopefully they'll put on their big boy pants, grow up, and learn from it. I wish DaRick the very best...but he repeatedly abused his "priveledge" to wear the orange. That is why I'm disappointed to see Butch give him yet another opportunity to benefit from our program.

Hope I'm wrong, but I think Patterson will disappoint the team that takes him in round one. He's not a great route runner--and I don't think his hands are great, either. He's OK at both, but hardly top notch. Give him the ball and some room to run and he's amazing--but you don't get too much space too often in the NFL.

That's great. It really is. But we aren't talking about the everyday student. I didn't ridicule anybody either. Didn't say the other opinion was wrong. Didn't say anything that wasn't fact regarding his time on campus. Didn't say I was mistake free. All I said was I felt anyone that was given the opportunity of a lifetime to put on the power T, then arrogantly crap away the opportunity should work out on another field. He didn't respect it before. Its very simple, but was turned into another ff soap opera.

How do you no that he felt know allegiance?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

Cause they think they know everything....last time I checked they aren't DaRick so they have no place saying what his motives are and what regards he holds the team...its one thing to say he was stupid...its another to talk on his behalf and tell everyone how he feels when he has done A LOT more for this program than most on this board whether they like it or not

I know there will be some here who think this is such a classy move on Coach Jones's behalf....but not me. I just disagree with rolling the carpet out for a young man who had countless chances here at UT to "grow up" and show "maturity" here at UT. He was given a long leash and did nothing but abuse it. Instead he was selfish and felt no allegiance to his team and ultimately got shown the door. I'm sorry but I think we should have left those ties severed. He cares nothing about being a VFL so please don't play that card. Go Vols!

Grow up.

(see Randy Moss) The guy finds the endzone, and makes Division 1 athletes look like pee wee football players. You are very wrong. Also, you disappoint me with your inept analysis on athleticism.

FWIW, I am a fanatical of Patterson. I think he put us in games this year, when we should not have been close.

I don't disagree with any of that. I don't understand why an opinion equals hate though. You guys are putting emotion into it. Mine is more based on cut and dry. You embarrass yourself, the program and get kicked out of school. He still has a career. A year off from Dooley was probably more helpful than anything anyway.
Again, I hope he has learned and excels on the next level. I need someone to explain to me why that is hate.

It's hate when you harp on the same topic over and over. It's hate when you repeat justification for "opinions" and use words that can't be interpreted as anything but vile bitterness mixed with further accusations. It's hate when you have no ability to forgive or at least give the benefit of doubt when a man freely admits he was not only wrong but foolish and desires to do things right henceforth. It's hate when you INSIST on judging, continuing to judge, and in the harshest terms, repeatedly.

The sad thing is most of you who act this way consider yourselves to be Christians. You're in for a rude awakening when He returns. But nevermind, I don't expect certain factions on this board to ever comprehend that. Not that I'm better than anybody and dare say I have a lot of stuff of my own that probably makes me worse in some ways. I can admit it, try hard to face it, and harder to do something positive about it. That's what DR by all accounts is trying to do despite the beat downs by haters.

Repeatedly bringing up DD, DR, TB, BB, LK, and others JUST to badmouth them can't be called anything else but hating. You guys still don't realize the impact you have on both the perception of Vols fans as backward hicks and the fact you do cost us recruits. This upcoming season when I pay my very rare lurker mode visits to other forums, I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going screen capture what members and recruits say about us and post them here if the modes allow it. I've peered into the USCw, UCLA, Texas and other non-SEC forums from time to time to satisfy my curiosity. And seen things that made me angry, VERY angry but contrite because based on my experiences of the behaviors in VN, they're true.

It's the repetitive hateful posts that do this. But like I said, nevermind, it's not going to change. You can't stop a tractor rig from wrecking itself when it doesn't have brakes.

1) Harsh.
2) Blind judgement.
3) Your mother should give you something to cry about.

I can't believe you guys are still going at it, 13 pages later

I was ready to drop it after I gave my opinion, but won't sit back and take insults or dramatic bs that talks about things that have no bearing on my opinion, especially coming from naive punks that have no idea what the real world is like, but want to give lessons.

My mother gave me something to cry about countless times when she caught me stepping out of line. I guess that's why I have little tolerance for those who repeatedly step out and are welcomed back in. Maybe I'm just a big believer in discipline. I guess it sends the wrong message to other players too. (Sarcasm!)

I haven't read a single response in this thread, so if somebody else also said something along these lines, good for them.

Vol for Life. Life. Not "Vol until you mess up." Not "Vol until you have no use for us."

Butch Jones preaches the values of making this program a family. In a family, you don't cast aside someone who messes up 1, 2, 3, or even 4 times. You continue to love them, help them, and show them you care. Are there limits to those things over time? Absolutely. But not for a 22 year old who is acting like a 22 year old.

What message would it send if Da'Rick or Montori were told, "Hey, we know we said you were Vols for life, but not on this pro day." I thought it was a kind move and one that we should expect out of our HFC. Our program is one of the greatest in the history of college football. We have molded great young men. The last four years, I've seen us move away from that to a "win at all costs, if you aren't with us you're against us" mentality. Let's get back to caring for our own.

Vol for life.

So your mom beat your butt for the right reasons and refused to let you back in the house or accept your contriteness. Got it.
