Darren Myles

Jr probably wont talk to much to tip his hand. I didnt think we had a shot with him before but obviously things have changed. On another note, I like what the article said about Jr being a leader and his social/community work. We need guys like this rather than the pot heads.

Wonder if D-Mo noticed the behind the back jap slap at his issues.

That's probably an intentional 'shot over the bow' for D-Mo. I've never believed he'd play next season thinking he'd either go pro or go home. D-Mo's an awesome talent on the field, but I don't see him navigating the college path to the field this fall.

He should focus on the NFL combine, imo. And, I hope he does well in the league. He'll have to prove himself there.

I noticed that as well and I agree we need more kid like this on our team.

credible people on VQ have said Myles Jr. was a silent before our horrible collapse last year.

it seems 9/10th's of the guys there now think his letter will go to the Vols and that Monte's hiring reignited his commitment to the Vols. don't expect anything before NSD, though.

I would be surprised if LSU/UA got him away from us at this point, based on everything I've seen on VQ and other boards.

recap for anyone missing background---

Myles Sr. was Inky Johnson's h.s. coach.

Myles Jr. made multiple trips to Knoxville to hang out with Inky, after Johnson moved to Knoxville.

we have a foundation and now that the relationship is growing between our new staff and Myles Jr., it seems like he's rightfully headed to Knoxville.

That sounds great to me. I hope this kid is wearing orange and white next year.

I hate that Inky's FB career was cut short. I also hope Inky becomes an asst coach in the future.

i think it's promising for us that inky is still closely associated with this staff - on the road with monte and all ...

There's a new Myles article up on Rivals. Seems like he's got three schools in mind. Anyone care to check it out and see if it has anything new?

not too much ... talking about his trip this past weekend - used the word great about 15 times describing monte, the defensive tutorial / introduction to tampa 2, staff, eric berry, etc.

if sr. was a prospect, he would have already given a solid verbal

"The trip was great and Monte Kiffin is a great guy. We didn't even have a chance to check in. We showed up and went right to the meeting room with coach Kiffin and he showed us all these variations of the 'Tampa 2'. It was great. The whole staff was just wonderful. It's a good situation there for Darren and he would have a chance to play and be mentored by Eric Berry. That's not bad."

Thats about it. Said UK wont be in the final unless they "wow" him. Just giving them a courtesy visit because they were the first to offer and been on him so hard.

I don't think Morley is great but if he's still around, he's good enough to start.

Maybe, maybe not. CLK isn't going to waste time on upperclassmen that don't perform, if we've got underclassmen that are more talented or give better effort then the new staff will have them on the field this year and let them go through their growing pains sooner rather than later. JMO
