Darren Myles Jr., one of the state’s top uncommitted prospects, has an official visit scheduled for Tennesee this weekend, his father and coach said.
However, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound senior has a couple of meetings on Thursday.
“We are meeting with [Tennessee defensive coordinator] Monte Kiffin in the morning, and then LSU’s new defensive backs coach Ron Cooper in the afternoon,” Darren Myles Sr. said.
Kiffin followed his son, Lane Kiffin, to Tennessee from Tampa Bay, where he helped the Bucs win the Super Bowl his second year as defensive coordinator.
Myles has already taken visits to LSU, Alabama and Purdue, his father’s alma mater. It is rumored to be an all-out battle between LSU and Alabama for Myles, but he said he has no favorites.
Myles said he will wait until signing day to make a decision but told the AJC that he is no longer considering Georgia Tech.
“I don’t want to be that close to home,” he said earlier. “I want to see what other schools have to offer.”
Last month, Myles said he removed UGA from his list of finalists because he hadn’t heard from the Bulldogs for weeks.

Guys on the AJC message boards are saying the son and his dad have their "hands out"

WTF... what a bunch of whiny dogs

i highly doubt thats the case. myles seems to be a pretty good kid. he can pretty much go anywhere he wants and hes the guy i been wanting us to get the most. he can learn under berry for a year and maybe play alongside him in 2010

berry wont be here in 2010. he will go number 1 in the draft

i dont think berry is a lock to leave next year. he values school and probably would want to graduate. Plus if we show something next year and we look like we can contend, he might really want to try to bring at least an sec championship back to knoxville before he goes pro. i think today he is the best college football player in the country regardless of position.

I believe Eric mentioned Myles was supposed to visit this weekend, but I wanted to make sure people saw that amongst the clutter---

Welcome to AJC! | ajc.com

He just popped up on the Scout.com's visit page, in addition to Hubbs also mentioning a projected visit.

Darren Myles Jr. will be in Knoxville this weekend, so no one has to ask what's going on with him at the moment.

so what's going on with Myles? I just got home and didn't even want to read the post before me....

I have been saying this forever.

Berry staying knowing we are going win the SEC the next year.

I don't know enough about his family to even make an educated guess on whether or not EB will stay. Everybody wants that ring though.

eric berry said when he got on campus that someday he wanted to be a dentist it may be a goal of his for after the nfl but how do you become a dentist?....through school:)

only time will tell...maybe this time next year he'll rip off his sling and yell out.."I'm coming BACK!!!".....uggghhh, what a tool Tebow is.

My cousin said the other day "I try to hate Tim Tebow, but he is so hard to hate." I say just imagine that :shaking2: :pirate: doing his little jump pass in Knoxville. :banghead2: . Go do that in the NFL and see what happens you .

oh man..you got me right in the funny bone.

Eric Berry just likes to hurt people. That's why he plays defense, not offense. I went to the dentist on Monday for crown work and when the guy put in the needle to numb the area, he shoved it in so far, my gums have turned black from bruising. Who else can legally abuse people in this fashion and get away with it? So...yeah...it makes perfect sense Eric Berry would entertain the thought of becoming a registered sadist.

ok, I don't know if he'll stay, but I remember him saying he would like to get his degree because nothing is always a for sure thing.
