Dave Hart Mr. Controversy

So what leading feminists have you talked to that has come out against sports nicknames? What is demeaning is a bunch of redneck sexists who would like nothing better than to continue to keep women down by telling them what is good and not good for them without asking for input. Title IX was passed to give women an equal playing field but as far as I know, says nothing about team nicknames. If the UT administration is so damned concerned about being fair to women, then they should've fired Hart and made Cronan the head AD and fired a bunch of male administrators, not all of the women administrators. JMO

I addressed that, so just go back and read a little harder. You'll see it eventually. By the way, Joan Cronin was the first AD of the combined department , and a fine woman. She retired. Some of the others just couldnt seem to hold on for various reasons not addresssed publicly enough to condemn anyone. Lots of rampant judgment with lack of facts for those wanting discrimination to be true to forward their twisted agenda.

First, you spelled her name wrong. Then, the rest is wrong.

In all fairness, she wasn't over anything I cared about long enough to check the spelling. Thought she may be Mick's relative and could help lure him as the revenue producing basketball coach. Nice red herring though with the spelling comment.

Oh, and she did retire so I nailed that. Oh, and you don't know anything about the rest, especially any job performance issues that were not public.

No. They won't.

You think Nike, that doesn't seem to give a flip about the secondary logo, will create a full line of constantly updated products?

It would likely be in their interest to let it die a quick and natural death if they've decided it's unnecessary.

It compounds its ignorance with an edit...oh goody.

They create nearly a dozen obnoxious uniforms for Oregon every year, your point?

More than 200 whiners buy those since they are in a well attended revenue sport. Also, Oregon is a pet project of Phil knight. Not a good comparison, as he just spoils them as an alumnus.

Are you 11? If so, I'm uncomfortable needing to spend more time teaching you. That's a viable reason for your lack of information, but too daunting time-wise to press forward.

:eek:lol:...you couldn't spell her name correctly...

Put the lotion in the basket.

I would be fine with whatever women VOLS decide. Posters like RO and his ilk would not.

P.S.-Neither would the two bozo's Hart and Cheeks. That is why they made the decision.

I'm not proposing mob rule genius. I'm proposing allowing actual women VOLS to decide. What a concept.

Wouldn't you want marketing experts and multi-billion dollar retailers deciding? That's really what its all about. Then the argument ongoing is claiming the same name for everyone is unfair. We've reached genuine equality, except for women's basketball, and people are upset. Im proud our university is close to treating everyone exactly the same. Now we can purchase in greater bulk for team clothing discounts. Some larger teams in similar sports can share items such as practice shirts with same logo. Im more proud our women are being protected from sexism by men like Hart.

Not only no but hell no.

First it is all about sexism. Then it's all about marketing. Make up your mind dilly dally.

Ask Karen Weekly out to lunch and question her about this equality you value....report back.

I don't want two non VOLs making the decision so why would I want 50 or 100? Not a difficult concept.

I just hope we all come together, especially on that special day in the future when we are all truly just Volunteers. One day we'll be judged on the content of our Vol loyalty rather than the unnecessary adjective of our preferred sport.

What a dunce. We are all Volunteers already.

The original decision was about marketing and branding. The fallout afterwards screams sexism. They are mutually exclusive at various points in the process.

No your logic is backwards. How about empowering the women to make their own decision. Are our women too stupid? Too incompetent? Not insightful enough? Not modern enough? That's sexist.
