'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

We have to start landing some difference makers from the high school ranks or this will be a recurring theme.

Times have changed from Elarbee's Mizzou model where he was stashing high school OL for years before playing them.

Everyone will have to roll the dice on the portal moving forward.
Tennessee got a really good OL class from the high school ranks

The portal has made college kids have an effective “free agent” year. I think you might start seeing players, who want to go to a top 25 school but don’t have an offer, go somewhere they can start early so they can showcase their skill set.

If I was a coach at a top 25 school, I would rather have a player who has proven themselves at a college level and has 2-3 years of eligibility left, vs a freshman that is unproven and is potential only.

Again, most 4 and 5* excluded, I think this trend will be way more common moving forward

Yeah we’ll need some stopgap transfers this offseason to help transition to those guys, but I’m looking forward having Warren, Sham, Lang, Nichols, Anderson, Satterwhite, and Co. (hopefully Seaton as well) ready to play.

It’s an OL that projects to have some depth to it for once in a long while for us. Plus whatever guys we snag in the 2025 class.

Surprised no one has mentioned this but on the pod yesterday AP was asked UT or the field for Seaton and as of right now AP said he’d take the Vols.
Bold take by AP. Probably to drum up interest. Seen nothing that indicates any team has a lead other than possibly bama.

Lol, pretty sure AP knows more than what you see on message boards. I would also consider AP extremely conservative on predictions typically.
That’s fair. Just seems odd. Not getting hopes up until we hear something after uga game.

we need dl, and mikell
I would offer the top 4 DL in JUCO ball.

Jaden Hamlin 6’5, 315
Shone Washington 6’3, 300
Danny Saili 6’2, 355
Malcom Crowder 6’6, 300

Then I’d take 1-2 DL from the portal as well
Seaton and 4 OL from the portal
1 WR from the portal
Most will hate on me, but I’d take a legit QB from the portal as well.

Call it a day.

The info I got is that there will be several current Oline players that will be encouraged to transfer. I think we can all speculate which ones.
If true, I'd like to know which guys. Most of the last staff's guys are almost out of eligibility. And if it's guys this staff recruited, we're left to wonder about Elarbee's ability to evaluate.

Development is the key. Also some guys just don’t want it. Elarbee made Wright into a top 10 pick. I mean your can wonder if you want. But I think it’s unwarranted

How many guys has Elarbee signed? Can’t count ‘21 class as his. ‘22 was meh. If a lot of the ‘22-‘23 guys are pushed out then your concern is valid
