NIL offers are unproveable for programs. So when everyone knows Tennessee as “the school that gave that 5-star QB kid 8 mil” and Spyre is on all these lists, it’s easy for big name recruits to dangle Tennessee/Spyre’s name to anyone they want and up their price

If I was a HC and if a player put my team in their top 5 solely because of NIL, I’d go on twitter, comment on their post and say

“we aren’t recruiting him” then pin it to my page so everyone can see it. Problem solved

I was at the crest High school game Friday…. A kid (javarious Green) committed to NC before the game…. He claimed that he was picking between NC, Alabama, can’t remember the third team….. also was saying that Tennessee offered and was pursuing hard…. He is a good player but I highly doubt he was a take for Alabama and haven’t even heard him mentioned with Tennessee.

I don’t think me tweeting “we aren’t recruiting him” would have any effect on kids, if anything most would be like “savage” then put the laughing emoji

An OFFICIAL text message with a scholarship offer. I have heard that is how all recruits like to receive their offer these days. If that is not how you do these kids will be very upset. Even lifelong fans.

Did I really have to say 'official visit'? An official visit as opposed to an UOV

We all know the Vols offer 200+ kids a year but most of those are not actionable. An example this year would be NC WR Terrell Anderson, who was all kinds of ready to commit to the Vols but CJH said... 'naw, I'll take Mathews and wait to hear from Wingo.'

We aren’t getting Wingo. That ship has sailed. Highly doubt we flip Bates. Seaton will be a tough pull. But if all those guys do want in, what players are you telling to walk to make room?

I Would love that, but we don't even have enough sports for that to happen. Would need quite a few to decommitt but Zim doubting we get Fountain, Bates, Cole and Wingo. The others possibly!

This is laughable… Not every high profile recruit is a “juwan Mitchell”… Coaches will churn the roster and make room for the studs as Tennessee keeps improving recruiting to an elite level. The scrubs will get the boot. Happens all the time.

It’s what they’ll do. There’s a reason they have talks with the kids at the end of the year, and if the staff thinks they won’t contribute; they encourage them to transfer

Tennessee is turning the heat up on Jordan Seaton but that one is likely to have many twists and turns this fall. He is planning on taking several official visits which means this thing is just getting started.
