I know nothing about Deadpool..but an R rated mutant movie? Hoping its better than Watchmen (which I liked).
Brought in $135 mil over the weekend. That's a number summer blockbusters would mostly happy with.
And that was with a Rom-com and a Comedy as opening competition on Valentines weekend.
Assuming it has no worse than a 50% drop off in week 2, then it should break $200 mil fairly easily.
I just hope they don't make him the new Wolverine and force feed him to us in everything. Though it would be funny to see him in an XMen movie cussing only to get bleeped out, then proceeding to cuss at whoever censored him.
No it wasn't an all time great like Dr Strangelove but by far the best marvel movie yet. If you were expecting anything more than a violent action comedy then you missed the point
word is the success of Deadpool despite R rating has Fox thinking the 3rd and final Hugh Jackman Wolverine will be rated R as well.
I'm not sure it suits Wolverine's character as well as it suits a character like Deadpool.
I think some studios looking at future projects are going to mistake this film's success as having come from the R-rating, not how well it was done.
I have a feeling this film is going to bomb!
The more I have seen from the trailers I have decided I have no interest in seeing this film!
Out of the top 30 grossing films this year only 6 are Rated - R and the highest grossing is Fifty Shades of Grey and #16!
Just my opinion but when you look at the epic list of films scheduled for release in 2016, I would be shocked if this cracks the top 30!
