Debate thread

why does the manner matter? so if the R's all lined up and voted in favor but D's didn't would you be complimentary of the R's (provided their manner was acceptable to you) and critical of the Dems?
Makes all the difference in the world

If it's not to late, R's should go for it.
I don’t think the R’s can, though I’m sure that would play well with the D base that may be waffling.

Looks like the only path forward to the 25th is if the Democrats come together and convince the cabinet.

Read more. I think it is either / or.

@luthervol you obviously feel it is more advantageous, in the ultimate fight against Trump, for the R’s to initiate the 25th.

Care to speak on that?

They can, technically.

What I should have said is - I don’t think the R’s can [muster the requisite support].

they cannot on their own and Congress cannot on their own as I understand it. The best that Congress could do is a 2/3rd in both House and Senate to create a panel that would invoke and presumably that comes back to Congress for vote.

on the other hand, the Executive branch can invoke themselves and it goes to Congress for confirmation

Yea they would have to muster a significant amount of support.

impeachment is the Congress route to remove a POTUS. 25th is out of Congress's hands other than indirectly through some panel that has authority I haven't dug into.

25th is the route for the E-branch to replace POTUS.

It's just too close to the end of his term. They need to keep the pressure on for him to withdraw from the race, but forcing him out of office at this point would be too divisive - let the repubs take the lead on that if they feel it's needed.

Name two people that currently have greater than a 30% chance of being elected president in 2024.
They need people to vote for them. LoL They have 0% chance of winning if nobody votes for them.

Obama said Trump was not a viable candidate, what happened, people voted for him. LoL People are viable because people vote for them.

You're insane. Maybe TDS really impacted your brain like a virus or something?

so you don't think it's needed - he's fit to serve for the next 6+ months?

So you couldn't come up with two names????

We know what the two names are.

So you prefer the optics of the R’s taking the lead to take him out.

Do you think that would be advantageous with D’s and I’s?

Oliver, Kennedy, etc.

I'm not telling you who to vote for, I'm telling you are insane. Although I don't think either Trump or Biden are insane, at some point it becomes that if you believe they are unfit.

Only an insane person would vote for them.

They are completely viable, they need people to vote for them.

Yea Congress can vote to assemble a disability panel, and then vote again, right?

A lot of support to muster going that route. Probably impossible?

No he's not fit. He hasn't been fit.
Nor is Trump.
Nor was Trump.
The country can obviously survive an unfit president.
What's six more months? It's been 7 1/2 years.

Insanity is claiming Oliver and/or Kennedy have greater than a 30% chance of being elected in 2024.

They have a zero percent chance of winning unless someone votes for them. So, lets say the Democrats don't provide a nominee... who you going to vote for?
