Democratic Socialism

Pure capitalism has never worked, and never will.
We are all well aware that we have a blended economy and that that will continue no matter who is elected.
All that will be different will be the mixture of the blend, which is appropriate.

Capitalism foots the bill for every socialist program ever enacted.

But it totally makes you a hypocrite. Party before country I guess, right?
I would be a hypocrite if I had any other stance. I have maintained since day one that Trump is a horrendously despicable human who should have never been nominated nor elected. That not only has not changed but intensified.
I will vote for the person I feel insures the best future for my kids, the country, and the world. That most assuredly will never be Trump.

There is no other way to generate the revenue needed.
So every country has capitalism. Always has and always will. (North Korea, Venezuela, Russia, China, Italy, Bangladesh, America) Sort of proves my point. It's a blend.
You will never see a country that is completely capitalistic and you will never see a country without capitalism.
It's about where to place the needle.

Too many posters here think of socialism and communism as being interchangeable terms. I have posted the distinct differences in various threads many times. Too many posters also seem to be under the delusion that the United States isn't already close to being an even mixture of capitalism and socialism. Too many posters also don't seem to realize the numerous ways that Trump has implemented socialist policies... such as the bailout of the farming industry as an offset to the impact that his tariffs had on free trade. Some of you guys are just plain slow.
First of all Communism is a form of socialism. But let's take Bernie at his word and he does not envision that type of socialism. Fine. I've documented in this thread how Scandinavian countries tax over half their GDP. Yes, you got that right. The gov't gets half of what their people produce. Who wants that?

Nobody here has ever said there is a country that is pure capitalistic. So pat yourself on the back.

Only in America do the Socialists have the hubris to demand increased spending on social safety nets when the country is underwater in debt.

All you social hawks need to get it through your thick skulls; we're broke!
Same goes for you military hawks, too.

I'm addressing the simplistic and totally inaccurate view that this election is somehow about dems wanting to make this a socialist country while repubs are kings of capitalism. It's nonsense meant for the nonsensical. (Sadly, it works)

After accounting for our "hidden" taxes, aren't we paying about 50% in taxes, regulations, and fees?

What’s nonsensical is , voting for a self proclaimed socialist , while simultaneously denying the Dems wanting to make this a socialist country . That does not fall into the rational and reasonable category.
